Can anyone help please? I'm being made redundant on Friday but have managed to get (through work) a Sage training programme under what we call Rapid Response - training within 13 weeks of being made redundant. Along with everything else going on at the minute I have to start this programme so that we can get paid from JCP. Does anyone know which will be the easier one to start on? Is it Payroll or accounts? Thanks in advance everyone

Payroll I would think Sprout....Good luck
I don't know but just came in to give you a Sprout. Hope you get an answer soon
What a time to be made redundant
I would start with the one you have even an inkling about Sprout ....but I don't think there is much to choose between them .
Sage is payroll Sprout.
Thanks everyone, I've given it up for tonight anyway. It wants company details before I can proceed. Now, do these have to be ficticious? made up by me or what?
Fluffs, I've got two sets of discs. One's a two part set for Payroll and one's a three part set for Accounts
Personally I would think accounts might be easier but as I did payroll for 20 years there's an aspect off accounts in payroll and an aspect of payroll in accounts.

I misread your original post. Best do back and read the changed reply.
I think they might be looking fot the name of the company that has just made you redundant - best to ask them maybe - the job centre that is.
Thanks Fluff
Sprout, if I was you I'd do the Sage accounts, it will be more useful when looking for a new job. I've just helped a friend through her course when she was made redundant recently. Give me a shout if there's anything I can help with.

Have they not given you work books to go with the discs that you need to work through? They would have given you the details of the fictitious company they want you to set up.
Yes Joe, it was only a five year contract anyway (started in 2009). We knew it was coming to an end but right at the very last minute there was a feint trace of there being something else for us...alas it fell through hence I'm out of work from Friday

Ah! stoopid me! Yes, I've got workbooks. I should have a look through them. See, you've helped already
It doesn't help that I know nothing about Sage from the start but I've noticed a good few jobs need it, so hopefully it will make it a bit easier to apply for them
First of all, don't approach it with trepidation. Be positive and confident, it's just accounts. Can you count, can you add up? Then you can do accounts, and payroll will follow with ease,
A bit simplistic I know, but I hope you get my gist.
