Ironic given who he has just employed as manager.
Whelan says he has 100's and 100's of Jewish friends - I for one find that hard to believe, who truly has that many friends especially from one religious group!
I smell a back peddling liar.

Hopefully you will cap a miserable week for Wigan by beating them. Although I know it's a double edged sword for you as every win puts you nearer the Premier League.
Football seems to be full of dirtbags a.t.m.

Ain't that the truth, you can't seem to kick a ball without hitting one

Looks like he will be stepping away from football then if he holds true to his word.
Wigan owner Dave Whelan has been given a six-week ban from all football-related activity and fined ÂĢ50,000 for making racist comments about Jewish and Chinese people.
The 78-year-old, who has a week to appeal the punishment, was also ordered to attend an education programme run by the Football Association.
The FA Disciplinary Commission said it was "satisfied" that Whelan "is not a racist" and did not intend to cause offence by his comments.

Probably a conclusion draw up by people who are of a similar generation and cultural upbringing as Whelan.
'Satisfied', not me.
I wrote a lot about this in my game review so am quite pleased I won't be sued! However it's begining to be one of those, "who breaks a butterfly on a wheel?" moments.
The paper set him up a treat.
