Paul Greengrass to direct Big Brother film

Paul Greengrass is to direct a film version of George Orwell's novel 1984 which is where the leader is known as "Big Brother" and where the phrase "Big Brother is watching you" comes from.

Apologies if you thought the thread title was referring to the Big Brother series

We will need to wait some time as Greengrass will be directing the next instalment of the Bourne series due to be released some time in 2016. They may decide to ditch the 1984 title though.

They might call it "The Last Man in Europe" which George Orwell had considered, "Airstrip One" which is where it's set, "Oceania" which is the name of the superstate, "Winston Smith", or a future date such as 2034.
