Cool thanks El Loro.

Are we there yet?
Oops! Yes we are. Thanks El Loro
How amazing was that And bang on time [well, given the delayed signal ]. Well done you space chappies
Confirnation from the ESA this morning that the probe has resumed transmitting data and is stable Yesterday's landing was bumpy and the harpoons didn't work but everything else seems to be working. The scientists may decide later to try the harpoons again as the probe needs to be firmly anchored before they try any drilling. The thinking is that they will do the other experiments first before doing this as if it doesn't work the probe could float away.
It appears that the probe is leaning and in a place without sunlight getting to it so the solar powered batteries won't work and the experiments come to an end in 2 or 3 days.
There are rumours that Bruce Willis may be sent there to sort this out

They need him.
Unless they fire the thingies and try to move it, which could make it worse.
I remember the launch 10 years ago,I just thought -how bloody silly, they think they can land on a comet 300 million miles away- nutters.
So what do I know.....
It was a stunning achievment, just need to give it a lil prod to get it right way up....
A great achievement of precision planning. I'm not sure how much real science will be gained from this but the experts seem to think they'll be quite a lot.

I agree and it sounds like they've got masses of information before the battery went, so it's an achievement whichever way you look at it.
The Sky Tonight on BBC4 tonight at 9.00pm is a special edition looking at the landing on the comet.
The lander Philae has woken up and has contacted Earth:
