I had heard on the TV that she had been in hospital for a spell, but was then released. I don't really know much about her. Will have to have a look.
RIP Joan Rivers xx She was quite a woman.
The circumstances are terribly sad. was really hoping she'd pull through It was only a minor procedure, when she had the heart attack.
Oh dear. I thought she was on the mend.
Wickedly funny lady.
RIP
She was uproarishly funny until the plastic surgery took over
But sad all the same RIP Joan

Yes there was a documentary about her not long ago. She was very insecure underneath. They did a comedy roast thing for her, and she revealed she was genuinely hurt by the jokes. She also had a tough life, Lost her husband [suicide] lost her money too and had to start over again.
She was pretty nasty in a lot of ways, but funny with it!
RIP Joan.
She put the A in acerbic.
I was just coming on to say that self same expression about her
I got her..extremely funny lady RIP
She put the A in acerbic.
She sure did
RIP Joan Rivers
Brilliant.
I loved Joan Rivers. it was "The way she told 'em" RIP Joanie. She was funny.
I cannot abide Jenny Eclaire who in my opinion, is a pish poor imitation of Joan. Jenny talks about her daughter, about her vagina and her gynacological bits, but she comes across as vulgar not funny. This is my opinion only.
Yeah, there's comedy and there's comedy Sez

Joan had more wit in her little finger
RIP Joan loved your comedy, your acerbic wit was second to none..
My only gripe with her was that I hated her.."All Palestinians deserve to die" rant
-For me that was unforgiveable..

It's a bit unforgiving to say it's 'unforgivable' barely a few weeks before her death. Who knows what was going through her mind at the time!
Anyway, I get what you mean Senora. She was controversial to the last. I liked her. She really stuck her neck out and she just didn't care who she offended and probably enjoyed doing it. Ballsy woman, as Americans might say.
When most entertainers her age are dining out on their notoriety of decades long past, she was still out there, carving out hers.
Role model IMO.
Wasn't she taking the mick ( or making a point ) with her comments about Palestinians? I thought that was the job of a good, intelligent comic.
One of a kind IMO

Kind of agree but I'm that not up to date with Jenny Eclaire's routine - although I can't imagine it's changed that much.
Like all subjects in comedy, it's the delivery and humour that are the skill rather than the subject matter. People rubbish Michael McIntyre for being lightweight, but in my opinion, if he can make mundane observations funny (and he mostly can) then that's his art.
Likewise, if you can make the risquÃĐ gynaecological stuff funny, rather than tasteless, then that's your art. Joan Rivers did make it funny (among others) but Jenny Ãclair doesn't

As you make a point on here, there are some things that are sensitive..In the past you have been the first to point that out to me, when I have jokiningly made a comment on here that you have found offensive or insensitive so please don't go there..

I wasn't making a personal point senora, comedians do a job.

Fair enough no worries..
I'd read yesterday that she was off life support and being made comfortable, so I knew the end was near.
Still very sad, I've watched and enjoyed her humour since I was a young teen.
Her stand up was brilliant, and she took no prisoners when it came to hecklers.
