I think we all need to face the fact that the current version of Big Brother is not aimed at the people who have been with it since day one.
As many have said, the show is now tabloid, aimed at people who like gossip columns and the trite celebrity magazines that festoon news agent shelves. It's for the people that think TOWIE and MIC are programmes worth watching. For the people who are wannabe celebrities without any discernible talent.
The social experiment that it once was is no longer. Alas the show is not for me anymore.
The only celebration for me is that tonight marks the end of Big Brother period, celebrity or otherwise.
BB4 was the first series i watched from launch night and i enjoyed it - but many consider it boring - maybe the dullest of the first 7 runs.
1-3 were good in an innocent more real way.
4 was duff.
5 and 7 were the creme de la creme.
6, 9, and 11 were watchable
8 and 10 were god awful.
Haven't seen an entire series on Channel 5, but I gather they aren't even worth ranking.
1,2 and 3 for me and downhill ever since and now its the pits, I've not watched the last 4 civilian ones and I think I lasted 3 days of last years Celeb BB. I'm well and truly over it, what was a really interesting social experiment turned into garbage pretty darn quickly

C5 don't give a toss about what you or I think.
We are not the desired audience.
Nor do they give a toss about BB or C4.
C5's BB isn't about BB as we know it, it's about making people who can become malleable celebrities, the further down the alphabet the better,because then they can exert more control over desperate wannabe fame junkies.
So that the rest of society that has become paralised by twitter and tv 'reality'can watch, judge and type badly thought out brainfarts,using very bad grammar and are strangers to correct spelling,and give them the vehicle to spew bile which they know will be published and make them heroes in their own minds, such as they have..
