I like the yellow jobs, honeydew, they are rugby balls too.
I had a little fat one the other day, it was horrible,
All I can say is Ooooh Matron !!!
... and the thread title looked so promising!
The little fat one wasn't a honeydew, it was some thing else, and horrible.
I sprinkle powdered ginger on my honey dews.Very nice.
I spat the little fat one down the toilet.
Every water melon I have bought is rugby ball shaped, not round. So I would say it IS a water melon if the flesh is red and the skin is green. If however the skin and flesh are yellow then I would say it is a Honeydew melon. Both are scrummy.

The little round green ones are Galias, I think

Canteloup - round, yellow and wrinkly on the surface.

I don't like the little fat round ones either

Canteloup - round, yellow and wrinkly on the surface. It did have a textured surface sort of beige colour, not as yellow as honeydew.
here is what it not
- Cantaloupe
- Galia
- Honeydew
- Watermelon

Here is some appropriate music to listen to while you all discuss melons
Spanish-style melon about the size and shape of a football with an attractive green, mottled, patterned skin (non-netted rind). Also known as Santa Claus, Christmas, Camouflage or Frog Skin, this delicious melon has pale green to white flesh that is very sweet, juicy and tender. Piel de Sapo melons have a super-sweet melon flavor with a juicy, honedew-like essence.
Piel de Sapo literally translates to "Skin of Toad."
Usage: Slice and eat or serve as you would honeydew or cantaloupe melons.
Must try it when I see it on offer. My eldest would kill you for a melon, he's a bit obsessed!

Misread that, thought it said Andy Williams.
