I think I waffled enough
wow.. all sounds fabulous Saz! Enjoy the day!
I will post some pics whenever we get them from the photographers
Oh maybe you can tell me what you think of what I got for B's mum? I've got everyone mug with 'Mother of the Groom' etc on:
The menfolk are also getting a bottle of booze and have got my mam a necklace, so wanted to get B's mam a necklace too. Problem is the jewellery styles here are very different to the ones in the Middle East - theirs tend to be a lot bigger and sort of flashier (that sounds bad, I don't mean it in a bad way but can't think of a word!). So what I thought might be nice was to get her the necklace that matches the earrings I will have on the day, it's probably still not something she would chose herself but thought it would be a nice memory of the day?

and reflect you ,I like the idea .
My earrings (bottom bit is pearl):
Necklace I got for B's mam:
And necklace I got mam, which I know doesn't look fancy but I can see her actually wearing it day to day I didn't want to get her something that would just sit in the box:
I have actually got my parents an extra pressie cos they have been great helping out and organising. The wedding is in Durham but I live in Cambridge so they have done a lot of stuff for me, got them tickets to see the Mrs Brown's Boys live tour next year cos they love the TV show But shhhh, don't tell B's parents

Thanks Erin, I thought even if she doesn't like the necklace itself, maybe she'll still like the idea
Heart inside a heart for your mum is beautiful
I had the misfortune of having my wedding the year after Lady di got married in THAT dress... everywhere you looked there were versions of the thing..
Gawd, I can't imagine how bad that was... walking into a shop and being faced with all the frills and froth and fuss
I don't mean to sound like I'm being critical of other styles, it's just they're not me. I've always been a bit of a tomboy and have quite simple tastes, not too much fuss (like Olly I think )
Have fun with the planning....Enjoy 'the special day you share together'....but most of all enjoy your life married together xxx
did I mention I love weddings? invite? please?
I have my own tissues

Thanks Syd, I said from the beginning that I was excited about being married but not so much the wedding

That's a good idea. The place name on the glass
You know what, I feel a bit cheated by the whole dress experience... you see on TV girls going with their mum/friend etc and everyone crying when she tries on a dress and just knows it's 'the one'. I didn't have that
I'd looked in some magazines for ideas before I went to a shop, and while I didn't have an idea of what I wanted, I had very clear ideas of what I didn't want Once we had eliminated all the things I don't like (too poofy, too fitted, too lacy, too fussy ) then I tried a few on and narrowed it down to about 3. But I just went for one of them - in the first shop I had been to, I dunno if I should have looked more places but I am really indecisive so if I gave myself more options it would have just got overwhelming and made choosing harder But yes, I didn't get the moment of the dress 'finding me' or knowing it was the one or anything
Saz, firstly, MASSIVE congratulations.
I was also a least fuss the better Bride. We organised ours in less than 6 weeks and for just under ÂĢ1500. I wasn't even going to wear a dress, but I found a plain one I liked in Monsoon for ÂĢ50.
At at the end if it all, it's your day, you do with it what you want. But take it from me, my best wishes are heading your way. Have a brilliant day. X
I really hope those earrings don't look like they have an ar*e crack like they do on the pix, especially if your future mom-in-law is given a pendant version!
But seriously, made up for you Saz. Can't really wish anything more than health and happiness to you and B.

Thanks Cinds Yeah all the suppliers have been 'what THIS August?!' - I started planning in January, when was I supposed to start?!

OMG hahaha I hadn't even noticed that! I'm pretty sure they are butt-free and it's just a trick of the camera
But seriously, made up for you Saz. Can't really wish anything more than health and happiness to you and B.
Thank you
Oh and the florist just phoned, apparently there are no muscari flowers available anywhere so they're going to use blue delphiniums instead I thought she was phoning cos she wanted paying
oh oh! Can I tell you all about my 'something old'?? I'm very excited about it I was going to wear a necklace that B had bought me previously, but because of the neckline of the dress that won't work...so was really struggling to think of anything. I was browsing around looking for I don't know what one day and stumbled across memory frames - you put a photo of a loved one no longer with us into a frame and attach it to your bouquet (they're a proportional size).
I should mention now that my grandma (mam's mam) died 12 years ago and just left me bereft at the time, I was really close to her (I still miss her now). And in January this year we lost granda (mam's dad), so as soon as I saw these frames I thought that's it... it will count as something old cos it's an old photo and I can have my beloved grandparents there with me on the day (Dad's parents are still alive, this isn't massive favouritism )
I'm going to see if I can upload a pic of my actual frame from my phone, but here is an example from google so you can see what they are (I hadn't heard of them before)
Oh I don't seem to be able to upload a pic, does anyone know if it can be done?
Aw Saz.. that memory frames sounds a lovely idea.
we're all gonna be weeping buckets by the time the big day comes!
My aunt cried when I told her about it... we're all going to be a mess by the end of the day I got a smaller one for my cousin too, to go on her bridesmaid flowers. Grandma died before she (cousin) was born, but her and her brother were really close to granda, so she has one of her and her granda to go on her bouquet
The woman I got them from does 'men's versions' to go on buttonholes (she also does cufflinks) so I got one for bridesmaid's brother too, or him and granda obvs! Think he'll attach it to inside of suit somehow
