Moonie the advice you gave me doesn't work when posting new thread. I need to work out another strategy for me

Tbh I haven't tried opening a new thread Erin but good luck with search for a solution

Moonie

Posting new thread which gets stuck by the cogs:-

Close the cog box - copy everything in the posting box, then close the posting box.

Check the titles page- your topic may have made it through the cogs anyway.

If not then proceed as below:-

Open a 'New Topic' box and type in your title then paste your copied post in the posting box and try sending it again.

Sometimes closing the cog box and sending again is enough, but I'd always recommend copying the post first, just in case.

Lori has posted that they now recognise that there is an issue and that they now need to try and work out what is causing it and sort it out.

I have provided them with some timings. The cogs start affecting postings made at  about 22 minutes 45 seconds, the cogs last on my computer for about 1 minute 20 seconds before the forum page comes back with the posting made at about 24 minutes 5 seconds.

They can happen at any time, it's just the 23 minutes ones which seem to be the most common.

Ok thanks, I'll start copying replies on to Word Pad just in case lol

I find that if you just let the cogs spin, eventually the forum page returns with your posted reply. Might take about a bit over a minute but it works.

I've found that works too El L. Suits me as a lazy FM.

Brian from Social Strata has posted to say that the 23 minute bug has now been sorted. I did a test post at 8.23.00 and it went through without any delays.

So hopefully, the coggy problem has gone away.
