I work for about ÂĢ1,100 after taxes a month and about to be redundant in December. One of my workmates has found a job this afternoon that she thinks I could do. NMW. I'd take it if I had the chance after applying and getting though the interview. It works out at about ÂĢ880 per month before tax, but better than what you get on JSA.........or maybe not

Sorry to hear about the work situation Sprout, I hope you find something soon. The good thing about being in work is that generally I find it easier to move and take other employment opportunities. What line of work are you in if you don't mind me asking?

What annoys me is we have the Work Programme downstairs to us (rented building) and you know the feedback they've been getting lately....

It sounds like you have transferable skills. Yes, it is frustrating and ironic how life is sometimes. I hope they are paying you some redundancy.

I have just gone through a review and the will be taking around ÂĢ6K from my salary. I'm not going to come on complaining as I still earn a good wage, but it's ironic that they are taking on more people to cope with the amount of work we have, around 10 more people.

Works out about two months worth (was only ever a five year contract) but I hope to have a job long before that gives out
