How very very sad .

English newspaper The Times is reporting tonight that an inquest into the death of Peaches Geldof will hear that she died from a heroin overdose.

A 10 minute hearing is expected to take place tomorrow.

A statement released by a spokesperson for the coroner revealed that statement from a senior police officer will be heard and the coroner will release the cause of death.

The Times reports that police discovered no evidence of drugs paraphernalia in the house, triggering suspicions that the house may have been searched and items removed prior to their arrival.

Exactly.

heartbreaking, those poor children. Hopefully the press will leave them alone.

They are too young to know the whole story now... They can be shielded from  a lot of it now and for a while but I was thinking of the future... When they are teen or preteens and searching pics of their Mum... It's so gonna mess those poor little boys up in later life

I see them calling it a parallel of her mother's death.   Not exactly - Paula was a grief ridden mess that never recovered from losing Michael Hutchence, but Peaches seemed to have everything she wanted and be so happy.  You just never know, do you.

I did wonder at the time if she was as sorted and happy as everyone thought seeing as she was at the family home with one son and her husband was staying with his parents with the other son

then again, that presupposes that you have to be unhappy to take heroin  - maybe she wasn't but just didn't think it would happen to her.

Heroin is likely to have contributed to the death of writer, model and TV presenter Peaches Geldof, an inquest has heard.

The 25-year-old was found slumped across a bed in the spare room by her husband Tom Cohen on April 7.

The musician had arrived at their home in Wrotham, Kent, with his mother, and thought Peaches was asleep.

He found their 11-month-old son Phaedra and called to his mother to ring emergency services, the hearing in Gravesend, Kent, was told.

The inquest also heard Peaches' father Sir Bob Geldof formally identified her body.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham said a post-mortem examination was inconclusive, prompting further tests.

But he told the 10-minute hearing: "Recent use of heroin and the levels identified were likely to have played a role in her death."

He said Mr Cohen, 23, went with his two sons to spend the weekend at his parents' house in south-east London.

"This is a normal occurrence which enables Peaches and Thomas to complete work in their respective careers," he said.

Peaches spent Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning on her own at home.

"Throughout this period she maintained telephone contact with family and friends, including contact with Thomas's mother to arrange a family activity, but this was cancelled," DCI Fotheringham said.

"Peaches maintained contact with family and friends throughout Sunday and at 5pm Thomas's father Keith Cohen took the youngest child, Phaedra, back to Wrotham and spent half an hour with Peaches before leaving the child with her."

The hearing was adjourned until July 23, when a fuller inquest will take place.

So much for attachment Parenting that Peaches claimed to support.

police have now confirmed that they did, in fact, seize such equipment from the mother-of-two's house in Wrotham, Kent, on April 7,

In a statement, DCI Paul Fortheringham, of Kent Police, said: β€˜Inaccurate reports have been made suggesting that no drugs paraphernalia was found at the address, with suggestions that the scene had been "tampered" with prior to police arrival.
