Realised that this is the filmed performance of the new album Symphonica. Such a great sound to these songs.

this show is the new album?     Ooooh...... tasty.    I've had the day from hell at work and this is just so chilled, just what I needed.

George Michael introduces his unique live solo performance at the historic Palais Garnier Opera House in Paris, recorded in 2012 for his live album Symphonica. He was the first contemporary artist ever to perform there. The film brings together a compilation of live stage performances interspersed with behind the scenes footage and insights featuring George, his orchestra and the legendary producer Phil Ramone, shortly before his death in 2013.

In between performances of his classic songs, George describes the stories behind some of his favourite tracks, and we see black and white studio footage of conversations with Ramone, along with rehearsals with the Symphonica orchestra and George's backing singers.

Before the end, George pays a moving tribute to the late Ramone, whom he describes as the most accomplished producer of the 20th century: 'He understood more about music than anyone I had ever met... And it breaks my heart that he's not around to see this album released or to watch this documentary.'

Performed tracks:

Through My Baby Just Cares for Me A Different Corner Cowboys and Angels John & Elvis Are Dead You've Changed Going to Town Brother Can You Spare a Dime Let Her Down Easy You've Been Loved Roxanne Wild is the Wind Praying for Time Feeling Good.

I shall be buying it EC.. I had a look at Amazon today though and the deluxe version has 17 tracks - one of the comments was 'I though the deluxe version had I Believe on it - mine doesn't'      It seems to be on the iTunes version - what's on yours?

Me too ........................his voice is just effortlessly awesome isn't it?

I just love Different Corner and the orchestral backing on that number in particular with the harp was sublime.

I didn't see him sing that one  but I've always loved that song!

Enjoyed the bit I caught... I kept thinking... Robbie Williams... THIS is how its done.

That track you mention is not on m one, but I'm not surprised as it's part of the cynical marketing the record companies and iTunes do. They release slightly different version so that the die-hards buy up all the different versions.

The standard CD has less tracks on.

Personally I want a physical copy so iTunes is not an option for me. Hopefully the blu-ray/DVD release will be the full concert and if I really want to I will 'extract' any missing tracks from the physical version.

How funny ...........when I was listening to him sing ;Going to a Town' nI was thinking .............this would sound great as a duet with Rufus Wainwright. Just looked it up and RW wrote the song (I guess I must have heard him sing it in the past).

Cosi .......you're in for a treat. Times like this I wish i was still drinking a glass or two of something would have been nice.

Many, many years ago before he became famous with Wham he used to DJ at a restaurant called the Bel Air in Northwood (Herts) I think. I remember going there and absolutely falling in love with the DJ. Who'd have thought
