I did see the end of last weeks show. One guy collected empty beer cans!!His house was taken over by them...nuts I say .

Another guy had railway signs and a railway station/ café in his back garden

I will never understand people who hoard or collect to that extent .

I don't think everyone gets the hoarding gene. But some of these are 'collections'. To night one guy had his collection valued and it had gone up £140,000.

I don't like the stuffed animals collection, but I can understand the guy who collected art.

I used to have a massive collection of cigarette packets (even though I am a non smoker) until my mum threw them all away.

Baz, is it a collection focusing on one area or like my Dad used to do which was never to throw anything out as it may at some point in the future become "useful". I've lost count of the number of bits of off cut wood we cleared out when he went into a care home.

It's EXACTLY like your dad EC Wood , bricks , nails , old tools etc that no longer work , jars, tins , old  tins of paint , broken bits of furniture .....in fact anything that MIGHT come in useful ....but never does!!!

Yep, that's the difference between hoarding and collecting. You have just described my Dad's hut and garage. Credit to my Dad thigh, he sorted and labelled up everything

I keep reading the thread title as, 'chocoholics'.

I used to collect Aynsley china pieces, in the Little Sweetheart pattern. I think the pattern has been retired now. It's all packed away up in the loft.

I do have a thing about china mugs atm. Which is why I'm about to order the Sherlock one from the BBC.
