I really don't know where to begin TBH. Can't believe that at the start I almost felt sorry for him .................I suppose I'd forgotten what an obnoxious toad he is. Not far into the book it all came back. He slates and blames absolutely everyone as being 'unprofessional' and corrupt even the gorgeous Yuri Melich right down to Bones the cadaver dog.

It was interesting to see how he formulated his defence ........poor old George it's a real demolition job on him.

Haven't finished it yet but as I say ...........weirdly compulsive reading.

Thanks Soozy  Sounds an intriguing read. From what I've seen, several of the characters involved are strange.

I've read Jeff's book too Soozy and now you've got me wanting to read this one but I shall treat it as a comedy rather than a factual account

I think you really would find it interesting. I think Baez desperately needed to believe in her innocence ..........quite why he believed that one extra lie about George sexually abusing her I don't know.

In guess as it was a death sentence case he had to put his whole weight (and there was quite a bit of that) and wholly believe in something if he was going to save her. If nothing else he muddied the water enough to get her off and he deserves credit for that.

Looking back - I really don't think it should have been a death penalty case. Although the evidence from the prosecution was very compelling it really must have been difficult for the jury. The cause of death was far from concrete - because of the intricate web of lies it was difficult to really nail it.

After all this time I still have a very morbid fascination - if anyone else has too I'd recommend this book. It's good to look at it from another perspective. Baez had to mount a defence from something - I should imagine it was a nightmare for all involved. Don't think we'll ever know.

I bought and read Jeff's book, but I won't be buying anything that buffoon, Bozo, writes.
