I'm having lunch with a friend today who is black. I have never asked him his opinion of Jim Davison's CW character, but I'll find out and report back.

I did see a video of JD using the "P" word on stage and this footage was not from the 80's it was much more recent.

I know several other FMs are regular Eye readers and have therefore probably already seen this, but for those that haven’t the following is an article from the current issue of Private Eye:

Channel 5 owner Richard “Dirty” Desmond pursued Jim Davidson to appear on Celebrity Big Brother “like a man possessed”, according to colleagues.

After the Cockney comic’s appearance in the January 2013 series was sabotaged by Operation Yewtree, Dirty Des tried to lure him into the autumn series, ringing so persistently Davidson stopped taking his calls.

The wily Desmond then got the Who singer Roger Daltrey to call instead – and to pass the phone to him when Jim came on the line. Davidson still refused to take part, insisting he couldn’t take on anything while there was still a police investigation. His reward was a spectacular four-letter tirade from Dirty Des.

For Desmond, where there’s a f***-you there’s brass. After learning in December that no charges would be brought, Davidson obediently booked himself into the Big Brother house and helped make the new series, which he won last week, a ratings hit – thus boosting C5’s profitability at the very time Des is looking for someone to buy the station for more than ÂĢ700m, seven times what he paid for it three years ago. Septuples all round!
