I have absolutely no idea at all
Is it a proper fine, from the police or local council?
If it isn't either tear it up or set fire to it.
Only the police and local council ones are enforceable.
martin lewis?
Alternatively if you want to send the letter to me - enclosing the full payment - i will shred the letter for you

See, I told you. Some things never change
If you are indeed "parking fine" then there should be no problem with breaking the law.
I suggest you're parking is far from fine - you scoundrel !!

Clamping has new rules, most of it is now illegal.
My daughter parked in a local private car park, (along with some other cars) there were some workman at the other side of the car park. when they came back they had been given a ticket for "obstruction" the workmen claimed to have told them to move (he hadn't) daughter was really upset (they used threatening language) she called the police but it is a"private matter" obviously she is appealing
The workmen did not wear any hi vis jackets etc and they produced no identification other than to say "I am the manager"
Machel - from Martin Lewis's site. Bascially looks like if you dispute it, they need to make a court case out of it... which is probably not worth their while?
DO remember this is about fighting UNFAIR tickets
Of course, landowners have a right to charge for and police proper parking. If you've broken those rules, and you think the ticket isn't exorbitant, pay up.
If you DO think it's exorbitant, one route is to simply pay what you think is right, eg, the equivalent to what you'd be charged on a public road.
Private parking company rules can be in place for safety, and hopefully should benefit everyone parking there. Yet mistakes happen, whether it's an unclear sign, technology faults, overzealous attendants or just an honest error. The aim of this guide is to prevent you being out of pocket when most reasonable people would think the ticket is unfair.
If you've blocked the car park's exit or left your car there for a month without paying, sorry - there's no sympathy here and this guide isn't intended to help. Even if it did, you'd have little chance of success.
Yet many unscrupulous firms try to catch people out for profit. Sometimes tickets are calledParking Charge Notices to mimic official council Penalty Charge Notices, but don't be fooled, they're just invoices, NOT fines.
So if they slap a ticket on your windscreen and you think it's unfair, write back explaining why and that you won't pay. The companies may huff and puff, but they can't 'hit your credit record' or 'send baliffs round', they can only enforce it by taking the time and expense of court action.
If you've had a ticket you believe is unjust, don't worry, you can fight it.
I got a ticket on my car - it sed,
"Parking fine"
And i thought,
"Nice compliment"
Boom boom

Was it a real parking ticket, or one that looks similar? was it from a traffic warden or the police? - they are the only ones that you legally have to pay.
If it's a 'notice' from a private parking company, she is under no obligation to pay it, it's merely a request for payment, like an invoice.
I got one in an Asda car park once, it looked just like a penalty notice, it was ÂĢ80 which would be half if I paid within 14 days.
I wrote to them, having checked that they were a private parking company, and told them I would not be paying the invoice because they had suffered no loss, as it was a free car park.
The other point is, they can claim their actual losses, if they can prove them but they cannot say' our losses due to your parking was ÂĢ80, but only half that if you pay up now'
They wrote straight back and told me they had cancelled 'the ticket'.
We need to know who has issued it to your daughter, the company will be on it some where.

The company was on the notice and my daughter responded by email, the notice did say it would be reduced from ÂĢ80 to ÂĢ50 if paid within one week. It is now just a waiting game, but if the appeal is rejected we will go with that ^^^^^

It costs them money if an appeal is made, they usually just give up at that point.
Here's hoping.
