Dappy warned by CBB for calling gay people ‘bent’

According to The Daily Star, Dappy’s remark came when Jasmine Waltz asked him if he’d ever sucked his own penis, with the 26-year-old replying: “Do I look bent?”
Shortly afterwards, Big Brother hauled Dappy to the Diary Room to remind him of the show’s rules regarding offensive language. Upon his return to the house, he is said to have told the other housemates that this was the third time he’d had a ticking off for his choice of words.
It is currently unclear whether this incident will be broadcast in the highlights shows.
Dappy’s warning came two days after Evander Holyfield was cautioned for saying that homosexuality is a ‘choice’ and comparing it to being handicapped.
Media regulator Ofcom has confirmed that they have recieved complaints over Evander’s comments, but pointed out that they have not yet launched an investigation.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Channel 5 said: “Following Evander Holyfield’s comments about his personal views of homosexuality, Big Brother spoke to him in the diary room.
“Evander was told that his views weren’t shared by a large section of society and that expressing those views and the language he used could be seen as extremely offensive to many people. He was warned to think carefully about repeating them. Evander understood and accepted this.
“The producers of Big Brother will continue to monitor this and will take further appropriate action should a similar matter arise again.”
Dappy and Evander are both currently facing the public vote for the ‘Bolt Hole’ twist, with one pair of housemates set to move to the secret room in tomorrow night’s live show.
