Bagpuss used to scare the living crap out of me.

My damn auto correct (and assumption technology) seems to insert words of it's own. Glad you did not copy my original post in as it's given me the chance to correct it.
Note to self - proof read your posts.
Cool I will buy them.

I forgot to stick up a link or will you just go to your local Post Office?
There will probably be an advert over there soon >
Me!!! I am more than a little bit enamoured of the Ivor one...oh, how I loved that little green engine!
*wanders off making the Ivor the Engine noises*
I'd buy the Dougal one, the Magic Roundabout was one of my favourites back home.

It's a sad sign of the times, but I was scared to open this thread in case the text read "...are being investigated by Operation Yewtree."...

Remember Hartley hare and Pipkins?
Well i seem to remember a cloth puppet from that or another prog like that used to sit on the arm (or back) of a sofa, had no legs, was a knitted cloth kinda material, had a big nose and was basically a bag and would get things out of what was in effect its tummy on request from Pig or hartley.
Any ideas what character it was??

How long did that show run for? I used to watch it in the late 1970s/early 1980s I think. I thought you were in your late 20s.
edit: I just googled and it stopped in December 1981. You must have an awfully good memory.
There are repeats and i've seen old footage.
I've even seen a picture of Hitler !!!!
Yeah alright, calm down. I've never met anyone ten years older or younger than me who even remembers it, let alone in such forensic detail. I didn't know it was repeated, let wiki know if you have editing facilities.
And sorry, I can't remember the name of that cloth puppet. I only remember Hartley, Octavia and the pig.
Then I think it may have been something different.
A white/cream character, no legs, big nose, flap with a button on his belly which he would open and take things out.
I just remember thinking it was a bizarre sight and can't place it.
Doesn't ring any bells with me either.

Pig - I do a very good impersonation of pig saying
"gis a bit of yow creamy cake then 'artley" in a thick Black Country (not Birmingham) accent
