"Bricolage" Thanks GJ

I kinda like how things work out in life. Garage Joe made a comment on one of my posts indicating my actions to be "bricolage".

At work the same day I looked it up and left it on my laptop. A colleague commented on the word and I jokingly said it was my word of the day.

Later on in the afternoon it was my first experience of the office quiz (a serious affair with electronic buzzers, teams, general knowledge, picture rounds and sliding points questions, the whole affair lasting around 1 hour).

To my surprise I ended up in 'team bricolage' with my colleague. I thought it was quite apt.

BTW: Team Bricolage emerged triumphant

Yes! The term bricolage is a bit of a family and friends joke. I suppose you had to be there. (See also hegemony, and highly problematic construct)

For some reason I thought it was a French antique shop , but I just looked up the definition although there must be some similarity, ie. bric-a-brac, bits and pieces and so on.
