Isn't the internet bloody marvellous? Nearly all done in a few nights, no trecking around shops to not be able to find the thing you want in the right size etc. Just one gripe, Victoria's secret needs a UK site, spent hours on there looking for some stuff my niece had hinted at, only to find that delivery was after Christmas, even with priority delivery at some outrageous cost

There is that too Soozy, but then I used to do that when I had to wade around shops after work and at we/s in the bloody freezing cold....I'm one for keeping Christmas in Dec, but I like it when I've got all the 'big things' done and can just potter and enjoy from now on, buying a few little extras in the more individual shops

Despite being tech-savvy I have not found the need to use the Internet at all. In fact I have not bought or wrapped a gift myself in decades, the family do it for me and I just dish out money to the appropriate members of the family to pay for my contribution.

I find it very easy and convenient and it fits in with my ethos perfectly.

Which ones Suzy?

Yodel are awful Rosie. The best one I've had so far this year are DPD. I get a text from them the day before and on the day, an exact parametre of time and an option right to the last minute to modify delivery instructions.

They are ace Kaffs. I even get texts like 'Beryl at 117 has signed for your package' so even Beryl can't deny it

The vast majority of the new ones are terrible. DPD are by far the best out there and my assessment comes from using many couriers each year (I get a lot of parcels both here and at work).

I have started emailing the supplier if I get a bad delivery service asking them not to use this company again form my orders. The more that do it may get some improvement. Amazon are good as you can feedback on packaging etc.

I love it all - i prep the dinner, excel at wrapping presents.

I spent HOURS last night online getting the kids Christmas day and Boxing day outfits, new trainers/shoes, coats etc and my Mum and mother in laws presents sorted.  I'm tempted just to do the last few pressies online aswell and not actually go near town for anything other than groceries!

Knowing my luck though the clothes and all will come and nothing will fit so I'll have to take them all back and find something else.

Ells
