I don't watch soaps as a rule Aimee, but for some reason I had it on tonight. Absolute crazy set of circumstances. Given airport security these days, would they let an hysterical man on a plane ?  No, no way.

I think the most unbelievable part of the whole thing is knowing their relationship and all the things that have happened, why on all that is sensible and sane would they want to get back together?

My thoughts exactly ...................it must be silly season in soaps. That baby stealing episode in Emmerdale last week and now this ridiculous episode in EE. That really was an insult to anyone's intelligence tonight ....bloody silly!

Exactly, how long before she cheats on him again  and he'll be out the pub now so lots of mooching around the square skint 

Don't forget Tina and Peter suddenly liking each other in Corrie when they've never even had anything to do with each other before 

A ridiculous episode right enough, but it has become a bit of a tradition for EE to come up with ridiculous Kat & Alfie plots (remember the episode where Alfie went on a sort of Greek myth-style quest to buy a pack of condoms?   ), so I tend to turn a blind eye to them now...

I suppose if you are happy to suspend disbelief then it was a lovely slushy story line.

I think we all expect a bit of realism in soaps and have become far too cynical and like amateur detectives saying 'well how could that happen' etc.

I actually tell Mr Woo off for that all the time ................we can't sit through a film without him saying -

'Why would you do that?'

'As if that would happen'

'That's impossible'

I end up shouting at him saying something along the lines of 'If she didn't do that - there wouldn't be a story and the film would be over in four minutes'

I think your stance on it is preferable TBH. TV is and should be entertainment ......I can suspend my disbelief up to a point but I do expect soaps to be a bit more realistic.

My guess is that you get a lot more enjoyment out of TV than a lot of us do and that's not a bad thing at all.

For this particular storyline, Kat and Alfie getting back together, I am more than happy to suspend disbelief.  Of course I know he would never have been allowed on the plane but it's fiction  I even found myself looking forward to Kat and Alfie getting married again   I am admittedly a right old softie

I'm with squiggle. I liked last night's episode. So much of the time, Eastenders is doom and gloom, so having a bit of a slushy romantic ending was nice. Lots of rom com films have endings like this.

I'm glad you feel the same EL, I'm a sucker for romance.

Sounds like it's the scriptwriters who need the sack.

Should pick up when it goes interactive next year.
