Celebrity Big Brother 2014: Series round up
It's been quite the series, hasn't it CBB fans? We've seen it all. Let's glance over the key events from the 27 days just gone for a taste of one of the spiciest CBBs ever.
Our celebs really hit the ground running. 12 megastars were paired up and cuffed together. Jim and Linda were set a poser, freed Dappy and Liz, and over the next few days HMs worked for their freedom. On Day 2 The Building Blocks of Celebrity challenged HMs to clarify why they were famous. The winning double act, Jim and Linda, received immunity from eviction. Later on, Jasmine and Sam triumphed in the In Your Head task and received the key to their handcuffs too. Day 3's Tangle task saw everyone loosed from their chains but also revealed the six housemates facing eviction - Casey, Lee, Dappy, Liz, Evander and Luisa. That same day, Lee and Casey had their first kiss.
Day 4 dawned and HMs woke up to an alien invasion. The UFO shopping task saw housemates put through their paces by extraterrestrials. Lionel blew his own trumpet, Liz and Lee got a shock and Jasmine and Luisa had their egos examined – with a party to finish up the day. The task continued into Day 5. Jim and Luisa successfully stole from the House and Dappy and Evander took down the spaceship's mainframe. Housemates were rewarded with a luxury shopping budget. Hooray!
The sixth day brought a surprise for nominated HMs. Believing they may be voted out, it turned out the named pair - Casey and Lee – weren't greeted by family and friends but were instead sent down to the Bolt Hole where our on/off lovebirds watched all the action from the House.
Eavesdropping on the House on Day 7, the pair learned along with the rest of us that Evander, Jasmine, Jim, Liz and Luisa would be facing the public vote. On top of that, Naughty Dappy was forced to wear a nappy and The Bolt Holers stirred up the House during the Slime Watch task.
Day 8 dawned and featured that terrible row between Dappy and Luisa. At close of play, Lee and Casey returned to the Bolt Hole, sending Evander packing as they filed back in. Dappy was unhappy to see the champ go. Things were lighter on Day 9 as constructed a little reality at Big Brother's request. Later on, the 18 Certificate task captured the nation's imagination as Lee and Lionel posed in PVC while Casey was creamed by a giant purple monkey. BB rewarded them all with pizzas. Well worth the effort.
That brings us to Day 10 and face-to-face noms, with a medieval task as a prelude. HMs took on the Beast of Big Brother while Casey and Lee had a good joust. After the agony of face-to-face nomination, Lee and Jasmine took to the House's smallest room and smooched to the sound of running water. The love triangle rumbled on into Day 11. The shopping task came in the shape of Democracy, with HMs voting on House decisions - slop or curry for dinner? What the gang didn't know was that Jim was pulling the strings.
The task segued into Day 12, which saw Lionel and Luisa plonked in the Most Annoying Room in the world. After putting up with a punishing environment, the pair swiped some chocs. Upon release, Luisa was voted into jail but to top it all BB took away beauty products, electrical items and hot water. Lionel and Luisa fell out over that one. Failing the task, HMs picked up a lowly food budget. Day 13 was unlucky for one as Jasmine was voted out of the Celebrity Big Brother House. Before that housemates had a battle on their hands in the shape of the Blindfolded Boxing task. Split into two teams, the celebs answered a series of quiz questions with Ollie, Sam, Casey, Dappy and Luisa emerging victorious and scoring a steak dinner.
Lee was making no effort to hide his hearbreak following Jasmine's departure on Day 14. If that wasn't enough, he claimed Casey had orchestrated a showmance between the two of them to gain attention. Liz had the big scoop on all the House shenanigans, delivering a news report to the House as part of her Liz's Letters task.
Big Brother saved the last Dance for Lionel on Day 15, as our potty-mouthed entertainer grabbed his cane and exited the House in style after receiving the least votes. Lee had yet another lady to contend with earlier as CBB introduced him to his superfan. It was all a task, but he didn't know that.
Day 16 saw housemates shine with BB's In the Limelight task. Lee and Dappy did some singing, Casey did a number on being a glamour model, Liz ripped into the housemate's wardrobes and Ollie and Sam got stuck into a bit of scripted reality. Our Essex girl and Chelsea boy were the winners. That brings us to a quiet Day 17, in which Luisa had a tricky task which she thought she had failed but the housemates had fooled her - they'd passed - and the group was rewarded with a roast dinner.
Having nominated earlier, BB sneakily played their DR footage into the House. Jim, Liz and Sam faced the chop. After that horror, BB woke up HMs to a Winter Wonderland on Day 18. Split into two groups, Dappy, Luisa, Lee and Casey were dogs, while Sam, Jim, Liz, Linda and Ollie were explorers. They were set a series of challenges: Brain Freeze, followed by sledding and a spot of Ice Hole Fishing. The dogs were worked hard, but reaped a handsome reward – a night in the pub. They had to keep this element of the task secret.
Jim and Linda had a great big row, that evening, which wasn’t a big surprise.
The North Pole task blew into Day 19. Huskies howled for breakfast and Linda chowed down on dog food. Eventually our doggies reached the Pole and ice picked their way through an avalanche to rescue the food inside. Finally, a luxury budget. Dappy and Luisa, rule-breakers, were forced to wear a twosie later that evening.
Eviction day rolled around but first Day 20 saw notorious fence-sitters – Sam and Ollie – asked to literally sit on fences then judge some of our the series’ most explosive disputes. They managed it in style and won a feed.
The next housemate to leave would be.. Liz! But she was swiftly forgotten as face-to-face nominations began. After a sleep, Day 21 saw HMs wake to face the fallout of a row between Luisa and Ollie - his first!
Time for a task. HMs who were up for eviction ran political campaigns defending themselves and attacking an opponent. After some harsh words, HMs settled down to a reward of refreshments.
Day 22 arrived and it was time for selfies! HMs posed for pictures, and then yet another task arrived with a new agony uncle being named - Jim Davidson! Linda and Luisa refused to take part, though Luisa eventually relented, and Linda wasn't allowed to share the winners’ sushi dinner.
There was no time to breathe as the next public vote saw Linda evicted. A night of merriment followed when HMs found out that they'd made it to the final. On top of all that, Lee finally opened up to Casey about how he really feels about Jasmine. Little did he or any of them know a surprise eviction was coming on Sunday.
The For Who the Bell Tolls task introduced a grandfather clock into the Living Room on Day 23. When the timepiece chimed, HMs took on statue status and BB had a few surprises in store. Sam's mum stepped over the threshold, Ollie got a smacker from his pooch and the boys from Blue left Lee with a non too subtle mantra (One Love). But those events were nothing compared to the shocker that was Jasmine's entrance into the living room!
After 24 days of stealing the show, Lee Ryan left the House the next day, leaving his housemates stunned. Before that the For Whom The Bell Tolls task chimed again and Luisa's mum gave her daughter a hug, Casey's mum (she's got it going on) wandered in and, finally, Jim's wife and daughter popped by.
Day 25 arrived and HMs were exhausted. A jovial morning saw singing, face masks and a massage train. Celebs created a task in which they had to argue for points they don't actually believe. Luisa declared men are better than women, Jim took the opposite stance, Casey railed against Page 3 and Ollie deplored the existence of fake tan.
Later on, Dappy was invited to the DR and tasked with freestyle rapping about luxury items in order to win them. The keen little beaver won spotted dick, fake fan, ice cream, chocolate and pizza. Time for another task and the living room was converted into the Last Chance Saloon. Celebs answered questions posed anonymously by housemates and fans on Twitter, winning cocktails for their troubles
The day before the CBB finale saw housematesdressed up for the traditional Last Supper - the final task of the series. HMs answered questions over a sumptuous meal. There were heartfelt speeches and a lump in everyone's throat. Our lovely celebs retired to bed for the last time in the House.
After a round of lap-dancing and mucking about, naturally.
