I'm still digesting the episode and at the moment I would give it 7.5/10.

Gone for regeneration?
Is it missing or are you asking why there isnt one?
Why there isn't one
That was brilliant and I actually managed to understand most of it.

Well that's easy, everyone watching it didn't want to miss a thing

I enjoyed it too, a bit confused as to where John Hurts Doctor fits in (in relation to the Doctor timeline). I need that one explaining.
I thought Cara had a minor role to the point that she did not really need to be in it. Billie Pipers character was a good idea.
I noticed they did a "James Bond" and insert a lot of nods to the past.

BBC3 offshoot explains that he would have been the Dr. in the years it was slashed.

So is John Hurt (The War Doctor) an actual Doctor in the Doctors timeline or something we accept as part of this show but does not necessarily have a bearing on future episodes?
I just want to rub myself all over David Tennant!
that is all
and oddly.. I think I'd tap the John Hurt Dr as well!

I think you need a lie down

Definitely part of the timeline! And I'm assuming he has a bearing
I'm expecting less angst about killing all his time lord buddies, and the angst void to be filled with lots of fretting about Trenzalore

So that would make him the 9th Doctor then! Matt Smith being the twelfth Doctor.
Yes Trenzalore looks like being the new "bad wolf" esq story arc.

Maybe. Although Mr Moffat has said that because he didn't call himself the Doctor the numbers still stand. But we all know he just makes it up as he goes along

Interesting discourse were having Ducky.
I did notice that in a programme I am watching a clip from an episode with John Hurt has the sub title "John Hurt - The Doctor" and also being referred to as "The War Doctor".
But yes, there seems to be grey areas and an element of 'making it up as you go along' to it.
I'm going to see if I can find a Doctor Who forum and see what they make of it all.
If you find something good, share it with me!

Weird... this isn't the thread that i posted in...
Wait till the birds start talkin to you.
And it won't be complimentary.
You'll need these..
I recorded it, watched 5 minutes and was bored.
In the 20th anniversary special "The Five Doctors" The Master is given a new cycle of regenerations by the Time Lords for helping them.
So if the 13th Doctor Peter Capaldi was to unfreeze Gallifrey as some point in later series then the Time Lords would be likely to give Doctor Who more regenerations thus enabling the series to continue.

I loved it... they did SO well! I'm always a bit wary of 'specials' because the Christmas ones are a bit disappointing at times, but this was a blinder! How wonderful is John Hurt too? Also.. I had to slap myself a bit because I actually gave a little 'whoop' when they flashed us Peter Capaldi's eyes.... Fantastic touch with 'the curator' too. Well done, Mr Moffat and Co
I got a little bit distracted with the barn he was going to let the bomb with the big red button off in - I was thinking it was rather nice and could I build one in the back garden
