He ruined my 6th Birthday by dying on it, but I remember watching the news and dancing around the living room to Return to Sender.

I was six when Elvis died too Cinds. I have a memory of coming in from playing to watch tv and his photo was on with his music playing, It was just unbelievable, like God dying or something  In fact thats the first time I remember someone's death.

They put Elvis films on for weeks afterwards and I fell in love with him . He was especially gorgeous in the one where he had to dive off a cliff to prove his bravery [Blue Hawaii?].

Our cousin Anne Marie was Elvis mad with her bedroom covered in his stuff. It hit her very hard. 

My favourite Elvis song is Guitar Man [ not one of his big hits] or maybe One Night With You.
