But what is your strategy? As my old mate Len used to say, "what is to be done?"
How do you see it panning out?
Russell is very articulate but maybe he doesn't have that cold logical thinking necessary to win a rational argument say in politics or in the legal sense?
Is it left brained or right brained?... can't remember which, anyway he's on the artistic side.
Still love him though. Also he reduced Jeremy Paxman to mush which is a first
I love RB - he's funny, entertaining, insightful.
I hate RB - he's full of himself and looks like he needs a good bath.
The system is irredeemable. All the things are in place for dictatorship by the monied elite.
Citizens are monitored and jailed for things they write on twitter
The trajectory for trading alliances means corporations will be able to override sovereign governments
The non-dom owned right wing media moguls are so entrenched in the political discourse that even if a government wanted to go against the neo-liberal consensus (which they don't), they'd be absolutely crucified by the press. I can only see the stranglehold the right wing has on public opinion getting stronger. The BBC will be privatised if the Tories win the next election - with public approval.
The EU has been in the vanguard of slowly eroding the citizen's connection with their will and what their 'representatives' end up doing supposedly on their behalf.
Voters rejected voting reform a few years ago. They were wrong. 1 million people voting Ukip and that party has no MPs. I have no time for Ukip's policies but that's one million voters without a voice in parliament.
The answer needs to be radical.
Introduce PR
Ban Bullingdon Club members from holding the office of MP.
Leave the EU
Refuse to sign any treaty where the rights of corporations override national law.
Hold a referendum every time Parliament wants to play global policeman.
MPs to wear sponsorship logos like Snooker players
MPs who fiddle expenses to be treated the same as workers who steal from their employers and prosectuted
MPs to do compulsory free work for charities and public services.
Limit foreign media barons to no more than 5% of the UK media market
Have a press complaints body with teeth. The present one is farcically chaired by the Daily Mail's Paul Dacre, of all people.
Break up Rupert Murdoch's media empire
