Remake of Carrie which opens in the States on the 18th is released in the UK on 29 November.
I saw the original film - it scared the living daylights out of me!

The scene right at the end of the film is a classic.
I doubt if any remake can be as effective.
Havent watched original. I am a coward!
there was a remake a few years ago

...and me.
There are lots that deserve a remake.
Hitchcock's The Birds is one.
I am a bit worried, because I loved the original and still do - I hope it's going to be as good!!
I'm in two minds whether to read the book or watch the film. Which is better?

Yes, that could be done better with modern special effects i.m.o.
Indiana Jones could still do well.
And Gremlins needs a reboot

Personally, I actually liked the film better! This is probably the one and only time I can say this about any of Stephen King's stuff

Nooooo - don't mess with Gremlins
Renton, I saw that last week and think its brilliant.
I first saw Carrie as a child, probably between the age of 8 and 10. It was in the years when video players had first come out and you had either VHS or Betamax ( that was first).
Hahahah thats hats reminded me of the Christmas we got a video player as a gift, although on hindsight it was a gift to the parents from themselves. But the 5 of us walked in to the room that Christmas morning, eyes closed, as per protocol, and we could smell the new electrical item.
