Although I missed some of it I enjoyed what I saw I understand what you're saying, he started young but through life experience, films and great songs written by great lyricists he had all the stepping stones that led him to be acclaimed as one of the greatest singers of his era, but his voice/personality lives on through those who will always appreciate him being an enjoyable part of their lives

I love "my Frankie" family and close friends know I started calling him that when I was young and watched him on tv or cinema. At that young age I thought of "my Frankie" as a family member...if only LOL

That's lovely he's had that effect on you  music is a big part of our lives

I'm more a recent convert to Frank...  hearing him on the radio I gradually realised how good he was. Also after reading Get Happy, the Judy Garland biography, he came across as so tender and kind to her when she was ill and difficult to be around and other people had dropped her. What a man.

Oh I bet the Judy Garland book is an interesting read, what a life she had. On one of the channels a few weeks ago they showed some of her concerts, I would have loved to have seen her Live especially to hear her sing The Man That Got Away and Over The Rainbow, classic Garland.

Ava also said that Frank was kind, and gentle, that he treated her as if she was a china doll, she also said he was the love of her life, such a shame they couldn't make the marriage work. Although you say you're a recent convert at least you came across him and enjoy his music like millions of others have/do  A famous philosopher once said Life without music would be a mistake...how true

I'm really not sure which one it could be?

*disclaimer* in fairness it could just be that he got all of his mothers genes and none at all from Mr Allen.
