I’ve never really enjoyed launch night/week one twists – and from memory; BB4, BB9 and BB10 all lost promising housemates as a consequence. The recent series must rank as one of the most manipulated yet, and on reflection, it was a continuous twist based upon an irritating theme (Secrets and Lies) that merely gave BB justification to do what they do anyway – tinker with the format.

So, CBB starts, and we immediately get 3 housemates given the advantage of watching their fellow housemates and immunity for themselves for the first eviction – WOW… how original and clever are BB? Okay, so gaining control of nominations is an add-on – but something many of us thought would happen from the safe-house during the recent series.

Louie, Lauren and Sophie (i assume) didn’t know that they were being selected for the twist; but at what point do you think BB decide which housemates will carry out the secret mission? Is it a decision reached on the day the show launches or perhaps something already in the pipeline from when the cast is confirmed? Why do you think these 3 in particular were chosen for the mission? Between them they have a vast amount of RTV experience and are practically professionals of the format – does that make them more likely to go along with whatever BB asks of them, for instance?

Tedious discussions relating to what BB will spring upon them next is now standard and dominates many conversations as the housemates are on edge (or on guard?) most of the time. Carol was clearly suspicious when the newbies entered last night – it’s all somehow a bit predictable and rather dull.

Totally. agree  BB will try and protect Lauren as they know as soon as she's up she'll be out, can't understand why they put her in there in the first place

Also, I think it's more likely that both Lauren and Sophie would have been up in the first round.  Both are supposedly highly strung, prone to outbursts and hissy fits and therefore are 'good' tv from BB's point of view.  Doubt they want them goaded too early and nor do they want them out or reacting to being 'hated' by their fellow HM's.

Then again, perhaps their agents did a good deal and this is their reward?
