Day 48: Callum takes trash talk too far

Earlier this evening, Cowboy Callum faced his nemesis, Dexter the Devious, in an epic battle of steadiness that we called the 'Flinch Off', which saw the competitive Cowboy crowned victorious and the House win 25 per cent of the budget. But before the drama unfolded in the ring, the real battle was fought behind the scenes in the dressing room, as the duo took full advantage of the time alone to trash talk each other. Callum in particular went all guns blazing, letting Dexter know exactly what he thought of him. However, reflecting in the bedroom after the challenge, Callum confessed that he may have over-stepped the mark. "I know I went off the deep end... but that's how I feel. That's how I react when I feel someone is being condescending," he said. The man on the receiving end of his tongue-lashing had similar thoughts. "It just astonishes me that someone would go that deep," Dexter told Hazel. It seems a few truths have been aired today that won't help the Dexter/Callum relationship. Even though Callum has vowed to apologise to Dexter later this evening, we have a feeling this won't be brushed aside in a hurry.

IMO, Calum is a deluded idiot, who tries to be all things to all people and ends up annoying most of them.

I am sick to death of hearing him spout how intelligent he is - if he were as bright as he likes to think he is, his gameplan wouldn't have been spotted in the first week or so.

To reply to Baz's post ^^^^^, the problem with Callum's "niceness" was that it was contrived. He over-egged the niceness pudding and it was seen as fake by the other HMs.

He constantly repeats over and over again that he is nice, sensitive, soppy and a good listener. He thinks if he says it often enough, he will convince the viewers. Well, not this viewer.

His conversation with Charlie in last night's LF was disturbing and he showed signs of being an obsessed control freak.

He needs to go.

I'm still trying to work out how being devious is any worse than being a liar?

There is no "balls" in admitting you're a liar - a liar is a liar.  There's no charm about such a trait, there's no moral high ground to be taken.

And as it happens, lying by making out you're something you're not - just to gain entry into a competion - is pretty devious too!

Look, the pair of them are no-mark tossers.

One of them has managed to play 'the game' and survived it thus far by evolving/adapting and using Plans B, C, D etc.

The other one has been thwarted from the off, doesn't know which way to play it next, and is being beaten in the gameship stakes by the very person he envies.

Dexter remains cooler and calmer on the face of it; Callum gets screwier.

I see it the other way round.

Well it's working.

You wouldn't complain if Callum was doing the very same thing and getting the same results over Dexter

At this stage of BB it's now becoming about who's out-smarting whom.

If a personal favourite is failing then it's all so unfair.

If a personal favourite is winning then it's wonderful.

If you don't care for either competitor that much, it's just amusing to watch who's out-gaming whom.
