Well, they are not my birds to be perfectly honest. But as I was in my kitchen I noticed birds feeding on the cherries which are now ripening on the cheery tree in my front garden.

So I decided to take a few snaps and post them here.

We have three birds. The first one was sitting by itself preening.

The other two look like parent and fledgling. The parent feeding the other bird a cherries.

Hope you like the pictures as they were taken a bit quickly

Seven pictures in total.

I glad they did YR. I'm fortunate living in Sheffield as we are a very "wooded" city. My new double glazing is too good at dampening the early morning bird song.

Thanks Xochi.

Don't know if you picked up on the post, but that was three different birds.

I shall change the title to include the word "feathered" as you are right

do you have other gardens other than your London abode?

Not per se The nearest I have to a country pile is to visit my Dad's cottage in Cambridgeshire.

I did.  I was envious you had 3 thrushes when I haven't seen one for ages.

Brilliant pics EC

I'm amazed at how advanced your cherries are. Here in (the supposedly) warmer south mine are just little green bullets

Thanks Cinds & Rexi.

We have lots of magpies too - not my favourite bird. Saw one being attacked by a crow or rook recently, about 6 other magpies surrounded the battle, all chipping in. I did not stay to see the outcome! Then last week I saw a magpie "take" a small bird possibly a young sparrow.

Rexi, here in Sheffield we have had lots of rain, but some good strong sunshine too. Although not fantastically hot we have had some warm weather - I think we have a sort of micro climate here, hiding on the other side of the pennines
