When I read your comment I wanted to do my Craig Revel Horwood impression.

"Too much choreography darling".

But it has been in decline for a number of years now. I think the viewers that are left are the die hards, the one's that hope the spark will return and we will see a series like the ones of old.

No it does not do it any favours whatsoever, I for one think 10:00pm is way too late as I have an early start. 9:00pm should be the start time. I don't care so much for BBOTS and I can happily miss that.

But I suspect the GBP have fallen out of love with the BB show and format over the last few years. Even on this forum we see people who don't really watch anymore.

I reckon if BB went head-to-head against The Apprentice in the 21.00 Wednesday slot viewing figures could dip below the 1m mark.

It’s tricky – I often watch the 22.00 show exhausted and out of loyalty – but I also suspect the GBP have fallen out of love with the show to an extent that many people don’t even realise it is still running!

I agree with all that CS. The show has probably reached the end of it's shelf life now. There are too many other shows pulling in the big viewing figures and as you say would force the BB figures even lower in a head to head.

I know people at work who used to watch and discuss the previous night, but I am pretty much alone now. Not one person in my office watches (we are a team of 10 people, 6 men and 4 women).

I also don't think Channel 5 has the pull Channel 4 did. I knew many who watched Neighbours regularly (me included) when it was on the BBC. Again I can't find anyone who watches it and Neighbours only draws around 1M viewers

Ch5 did wrong by wanting to use a social media platform i.e Facebook - Twitter - BOTS exclusives and very little news on their website

The viewing figures have never been great once peeps have tuned in for a few days to see if CH5 have listened to them

LiveFeed 24/7 was the pull for CH4 - you didnt have to sit by your PC for long lengths of time to *watch* what they wanted you to see - housewives which I think pushed the figures up were able to watch/listen and carry on running the home - speaking personally when it was on Sky I used to have it tuned into all the TV's every day and could listen/watch from wherever I was in the house - when it went to live streaming I paid each year and streamed to the PC - turned the volume up and could still listen without being pinned down

This years 2 hours a night was never going to last long - they just didnt get that it was what peeps wanted so any excuse and it was pulled

Watching 24/7 live and just watching an hour a day of an edited show isnt and was never the same - it always seemed/seems you are watching a different show

Both the previous winners since CH5 took over have now watched back their year and have concurred what we see is so different to what really goes on in there from how the edited highlight show is scrambled together

That is a very interesting point. It begs the question "how do we know the opinions we have formed about people are correct"?

Are we as viewers being completely manipulated?

Do Channel 5 know who they want in the final and possibly who they want as a winner?

Are some of the stories about contestants being friends with presenters just the tip of the iceberg?

Will Stacey finally see Brad for the love rat he is?

Queue the theme tune for Soap...

It died a lingering death on CH4 , mainly because of the manipulation, not of the HM's but of the viewers, Nikki going back in and Pete's 'dream' and strangely times relationship with Nikki.I remember watching that and it was like you were reading a book and suddenly feeling you had missed a chapter..

I think CH4's snotty attitude towards it's fans, their forum and being a part of the show' helped it along it's way.

I don't think that even during the most scripted period of CH4 , it has ever come close to being as scripted as CH5's from day one.

CH4 lost interest in the show a long time before they could get out of the contract period and it showed, so CH5 took over a dying duck and then held it's head under water.

the lose of the forum lost a lot of die hard viewers  before the 1st series even started on CH5

In general Channel 5 don't seem to have very good viewing figures, there are programmes that figure higher than BB. The figures could be inflated - who knows, but that would not be good for Channel 5 if they were.

If they just did CBB could have bigger figures give the celebrity angel. TBF I don't watch it as a rule because all the 'celebrities' as Z-listers at best.
