I'm so shocked about this he was awesome. I can't even imagine how Lea must be right now, they were a lovely couple. Glee will never be the same without him, and I'm glad I saw the live show 2 years ago RIP Cory

His family must be in bits today.  My thoughts are with them.

RIP Corey Monteith 

Reports are saying he died of an accidental overdose a mixture of alcohol & heroin. What a tragic ending for such a talented young man, addiction is awful

Ryan Murphy has spoken; "Glee creator Ryan Murphy is speaking out about the death of Cory Monteith and revealing how the show will handle the loss of one of its biggest stars. "It's always sad and shocking when somebody so young dies, but one of the things that made it even more upsetting is that so many of us who knew and loved him were actively involved in trying to get him better," Murphy said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Fox, which airs Glee, announced Friday that the series has delayed production, as well as its fifth season premiere date, in the wake of Monteith's death at 31 from a toxic mix of heroin and alcohol. "When you're faced with something so sad and so shocking, what do you do? Do we cancel the show? Do we start shooting in January? What do we do?" Murphy said in the interview. "Ultimately, we decided the best thing for everyone is to get back to work and be around people who knew him and loved him so that everyone can grieve together." As for Monteith's character Finn Hudson, McKinley High's football star-turned-glee clubber, Murphy says the role will not be re-cast. The current plan, he says, is to pay tribute in the season's third episode. "The right thing to do for the show, at least at this point, is to have that character pass," Murphy says. "When we do the tribute episode to that character, we'll have to do it in a way where the castmembers will not have to re-create feelings of grief that they’ve had this week – but do it in an upbeat way." Murphy also says he spoke with Monteith's costar and real-life girlfriend, Lea Michele, telling her he would understand if she didn't want to return to Glee. But, he says, she said that was not an option." I love Lea, I hope she's being well taken care of

Have to say I wasn't all that impressed with it - the singing was OK and it was nice to see some of them come back again but dare I say it, it was boring and not what you'd expect a tribute episode 

 

You are perfectly entitled to your opinion Pengy. I do find people seem to have difficulty being critically truthful with events and in this case the shows response to the death of a cast member.

 

Credit to Pengy for being able to give an honest opinion and not be pressured by circumstance.

 

I must add that I have never seen the show and do not know the person under discussion.

I stopped watching Glee after the 2nd season.  But I decided to revisit it last night to watch this episode, I felt the same and I lasted to the first ad break and had to switch over.

I didn't realise it was on, I'm guessing the series link picked it up but I'm thinking it might not be worth the time after reading the last few posts... thanx for the saved hour of my life peeps!

I've recorded it but haven't seen it yet.
I think glee is losing steam though, my SIL has binned it off altogether.

no brainer there..    Glee..   or drooling at the abs on the Arrow..

I kept forgetting to watch Arrow so I stopped watching

That's why I was quite shocked that my Mister didn't like it, I would have thought it would have been right up his street.
