Oh now that I do think is really low.   I watched the beginning part of the night when he was calling women biatches etc... tbh I though he was a big mouth, but I didn't actually take that seriously  - i thought he was showboating, much as he would in the ring.    It's all in how we see things I suppose.   (btw - I wasn't trying to be patronising in my last post when said people like weird stuff - I know you're a woman of the world (I've seen you lust over enough blokes! )  just commenting on how some people like that stuff)

And as for him saying he gets angry but would never hit a woman ....well is * do you want me to nut you * the first thing that pops into a non violent persons head ? Trust me , I'm no shrinking violet and I've got a temper ...I'm also not naive ....but his behaviour truly sent alarm signals through me ......

Believe me I do know where you are coming from Baz I really do..  when I first saw those 'i'm gonna nut you' lines I'd not seen the whole night and I was like oooer crikey .. after I had seen the whole night I felt differently about them and saw it another way.. the words were not good and unwise but the context made it less bad for me.. if I had heard those words in a  different context I may have felt differently..

the fact he uses words like that shows to me there may be an undercurrent of  hard violence beyond a 'you're a norty girl I am going to slap your bottom' rolepaly thing  within him from his 'street life' that he brings to a relationship as well, and to which I think he has not denied but has only controlled via boxing in the past.. he needs help to control it outside of boxing and maybe understand where it comes form more   and learn what's ok and what's not depending upon what company you are keeping..

either way hope he gets help . .

Hazel needs a bit of help too so she can learn that you can get what you want without using your body and feminine wiles to get your own way..

they are also by nature, aggressive - it comes as part and parcel of being a boxer.

I'm not sure that's necessarily the case tbh

if they want to win they have to have a certain amount of aggression or they end up on their backsides - it's not just technique, there has to be a force behind it and it's usually aggression fuelled but that's just my opinion

Obviously they have to be able to be aggressive in the ring - I just question the 'by nature, aggressive' tag.    Sure if they're in a fight and in the zone.. I'm just struggling to see the like of Barry McGuigan going around in Daley mode, trying to look macho and beating his missus up.

*waits for someone finding a Barry McGuigan wife beating story*

Not heard of a Mc Guigan one but Mike Tyson and Frank Bruno spring to mind.

More recently Floyd Mayweather was in trouble for domestic abuse!

Sorry I don't agree with that pengy, I've known alot of boxers and their trainers and most boxers start as children and are trained in self control and most boxers who fight each other are'nt enemies but are actual friends..boxing is a sport like any other sport its not about aggression or hating your opponent....
