I really hate the media at times... An eye witness (to the murder) on BBC news saying what he saw.. when the he got to the part where the police shot at the men the reporter asked (in 0.1 seconds) 'Did you hear the police shout a warning?' The witness just said they had the gun in their hand/s walking towards the the police car after telling people to go get the police........ fair play to the lad though he back tracked a little (quite well) after saying no and said there were lots of people shouting around him.

they still don't really know what the motive is for this attack was, it could have been racially motivated but equally there could be a family reason that's not been disclosed.

Either way, it was a cowardly attack on an elderly gentleman

Its a disgrace  Cowards and animals

interesting Soozy and I think two of the comments highlight where action does indeed need to be taken.  This quote struck me:

"The facts are here are that this deranged boy in the video was born in Englandand British. He is Black. His parents are Nigerian. He was not born a Muslim. He may have ssiblings who are not Muslims. He changed religion in country. His conversion was in country. It should now be about clerics and their preaching in mosques so that we can save more people from ending up this way for both victims and perpetrators"

Converts or young disaffected men who weren't pious do seem to be easily manipulated by clerics to perform these acts so maybe that's where the police/authorities should be focusing their attention

David Cameron revealed in a statement in Downing Street that the authorities will investigate exactly what the security services knew about the killers and whether the attack could have been prevented

Mail says MI5 were aware of him already (I know.. The Mail), but wonder if that's why they were so quick to call it a terrorist attack?

On the BBC news they said that the family had requested this because not all the family had yet been informed.

I'm disgusted it was done with such pride on the part of the murderers.

I'm also disgusted that people filmed it on their phones and shared it online.

In some ways that's almost the worst bit - misguided as the attackers were, somewhere in their deranged heads they thought they were doing something right.   I can find nothing redeeming about filming and sharing it.   If someone thought 'I'll video this and give it to the police' I might understand it - but putting it online is disgusting.

Just read this on Facebook....

Just out for a walk after an early stack
Not looking for trouble not watching my back
Mothers with prams holding hands with their kids
Not paying attention to the car as it skids
Caught completely off guard not expecting what comes
One man with a knife another with guns.
No chance of defence no chance to fight back
Looking for help as the cowards attack
An angel arrives as the light turns to grey
A woman attempts to steer attackers away
My last thought of ‘Thank You’ never strays from my brain
As my body shuts down and I feel no more pain.

I look to my left and I look to my right
Thousands of squaddies are all that’s in sight
Uniforms are crisp and their faces are clean
No sign of anger or hate to be seen
As if by command they salute all as one
The RSM smiles, says ‘Welcome home son’.
