Former wrestler Mick McManus has died today aged 93.
If it thunders tonight, don't worry it's just Mick having a reunion wrestle with these guys?

blimey I didn't know he was still alive to be deaded now. . if that makes sense .. he was my dad's favourite wrestler in what seems like eons ago now.. Saturday afternoons was dads TV time... wrestling prior to the golf ball starting with the footy results. . I used to sit there bemused at it all or go out to play while dad watched men doing what looked to me like hugging each other one minute then throwing each other across the ring the next
Olly it was my Nana who was the wrestling fan. She used to be jumping around and shouting at the TV.
We've just had the same wrestling/footie results conversation here in the office. Was my Mum who was the wrestling fan - she loved Jackie Pallo
I didn't realise he was still alive I'd also forgotten that Giant Haystacks had passed over - he was a very distant relative on my father's side and I used to tell the kids at school if they picked on me he'd sort them out

awww I wish I had had a nana ..I'd have loved watching nanas jump around the lounge shouting at the flabby burly wrestlers on the TV when I was a kid. .

Was funny Olly - my nana was tiny , and a wee gentle person, but she turned into a fiend when she was watching the wrestling !
It must have been a 'nan'thing - my nan loved the wrestling too 93 - a good age - when I saw the name it was a real blast from the past.

My Nan too, although she used to call him a "dirty bugger"

My mum was a very *prim* woman, until she was watching wrestling on a Saturday... talk about an eye opener R.I.P Mick
Oh something just popped in to my head then, about him & ear pulling. I was thinking was that one of his dirty tricks, but I've just googled and apparently he hated having his ears pulled. Where on earth I dredged that memory from I have no idea.
