I will take legal advice if this goes further but I would appreciate any thoughts on this matter
So daughter went to Bath at the weekend with college for a football tournament, on the way back they stopped off at a Mcdonald's for some dinner and some of the other girls on another table were playing pranks on each other and one was recording it on a mobile phone. One of the girls then smacks one of those plastic tubs of sauce into my daughters face, you can see clearly on the video that my daughter wasn't aware this was going to happen, my daughter is then seen wiping her face and then she throws a tub of sauce behind her at the girl, everyones laughing and joining in the prank until daughter looks up and see's the tub she threw had hit the girl on the back but had splattered onto one of the teachers.
Daughter said sorry at the time and then again later on, which the teacher accepted, the teacher said they would have to explain their actions to the head when they got back to college, the girl that threw the sauce at my daughter first, was seen by the head yesterday and then a phone call was made to her parents, they said she may be kicked out of college and the police may become involved, daughter has got an appointment to see the head today and I am awaiting a call from them, I can see daughter shouldn't have retaliated but it is a gut reaction, like if someone throws a snowball at you, you throw one back.
I really don't think she should be kicked out of college at nearly the end of the course when it could also affect her getting into Uni, also my daughter could have been hurt when the girl threw the sauce into her face. Im not sure why the police would have to be involved, i suppose I will find out when they call me.
Do you think this is grounds to kick her out of college and would I have a case against them, seeing that my daughter didn't start it
Sorry for the long post
