that's three times as much as Children in Need raised last year.    They're doing something right.

I reckon its that they actually focussed on making comedy and not promoting bands albums as they used to do. But the GBP are doing it, despite our hard times.

I'm more attracted to Comedy Relief than Children In Need, I don't know why really, maybe just because I need to laugh as well as cry, (there can be a lot of v dark and 'inappropriate' humour with those who do the doing, survival mechanism?)

Xochi, am not ignoring your post.  Understand exactly what you are saying; the hardest part is always getting the kids to an emotionally comfortable state.  Not easy to lead by example when you're feeling completely and utterly broken yourself.

Thankfully Cosi, that is something that, in my experience, has changed q significantly of late, not enough, but moving in the right direction: the point when the message finally starts to got across that children are being abused by witnessing domestic abuse and that isn't the victim's fault that they can't protect them, when they're being abused themselves.

I can only speak from my own knowledge Supes and I've got to say it's sheer bloodymindedness that mercifully kicks in.  A lightbulb moment; you realise that it's sink or swim despite being away from the abuser.

It's a bit like the mouse that roared type of thing; protect and save the cubs.

I'll chat about it more any time you want but for now I've got to hit the hay.

I'm meant to be getting my hair done at 10am tomorrow   That in itself will make the story of Lazarus seem like a piece of cake

Goodnight all in here.  Been nice chatting with you all

Cos I know that you've been there, thankfully, I never have. Just saying that people's attitudes are generally on the turn, not least of all those of the police. i remember so many woman 10 years + ago who would never acknowledge what was happening mainly for fear that they would lose their children. That really has changed. ION, I have a good friend who runs a woman's refuge who is really struggling for funding......get texting that number
