Crisis of hegemony again.

When I was a lot younger a great part of social life revolved around trade unions, the Labour Party, WEA,  and the club. Ordinary folk were involved (and sometimes ignored) in policy making from the grass roots and upover.

(I'm sure that the Tory Party had it's organisation too)

At some point we all appear to have been taken over by suits, and subsequently unelected organisations such as  banking.

It is easy to explain why people don't involve themselves, there are so  many alternative pastimes, but I do wish they wouldn't sit back, vote when neccessary, and then whine on about the result.

In order to change the system people need  to become involved in the political process through the political organisations. How many political party members do you know

Presently Facebook is festooned with all manner of protest groups. As a veteran I would suggest that many of these groups are pointless. Monty Python's Life of Brian was an excellent and conclusive political observation. A lot of these peeps are mere manipulators who get their rocks off trying to cause trouble, and  of course, "Reg will not be joining us on this protest as he has a bad back!"

That's my view!
