What's the best one then?
My Mum is 87 on Friday and said that she would specifically like some hand cream. I would be grateful for your opinions.

I don't use hand cream - I never suffer from dry skin (and don't do a lot of washing up/housework) - I have heard that there is an Avon one that is quite superb - not a lot of good for Friday though unless you can order online.
I'll be going to a department store before Friday - thanks Soozy.
I can recommend L'Occitane Shea Butter handcream. It is rich and creamy and very good for dry hands. It is pricey compared to brands you will find in supermarkets and chemists but it is the best one I have ever used, and it does last a good while.
You can find it in big department stores like Debenhams as well as online or in L'Occitane shops.
Thanks Baz! I'll be back later. (I'm the one who could do with hand cream really)
I'm with Yogi on this, L'Occitane is simply great but a wee bit pricey. I also use Neutrogena Everyday Repair Lotion (as an affordable every day product) and its really good. Almost as good as L'Occitane but at a third the price. You really can't go wrong with either one imho.
I have the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour one atm I don't use it regularly mind, but their face cream is good, and it seems to absorb well
(Just been booking a footie trip)
Yes thanks for recommending L'Occitane. We bought our son a load of stuff from there before Christmas. Alas! No trips to Newcastle planned so I will try Debenhams and Binns-is.
Me sister like Neutrogena age defying hand cream
Norwegian formula ones are good for dry hands like mine. Mine are so dry and sore where I have to wash them so much due to my job I'm sure she'll be pleased with whichever one you choose
Clarins is lovely Joe...Smells gorgeous too..
Evelyn & Crabtree.. . I recently discovered this, after buying my bessie mate a gift set of six of their hand creams (cost ÂĢ20 in Fenwicks just before xmas.. have seen these sets for ÂĢ15 online since xmas).. she raved so much about them that she gave me one of her little tubes. (all the tubes were essentially the same type of cream.. but different flavours. I like the blue La Source one)
I have since bought a big tube (ÂĢ14)
Best hand cream I have ever used.. is pleasant to apply (absorbs).. and it actually works.. instantly makes me hands look ten years younger
you can get gift sets that have other stuff as well as the hand therapy (thats the cream) in them!
I love the Clarins one too Lal
The Evelyn & Crabtree cream is the only cream that sorts out my dodgy eczema elbow (my right elbow.. I have a feeling its caused by my elbow resting on my leg whilst I am on the laptop... I have come to the conclusion that using the mouse pad must cause the eczema elbow.. cos me left one is fine)
None as good as this one imo, (and you can get it in Deb's or Binnses!)

It does lal, really does the job and smells divine, that's why it's my no 1 choice. L'Occitaine is nice too mind

But it stinks!

That's what B says I don't mind the smell

There's a stockist nearer to you than Newcastle GJ. Enter your postcode here: http://uk.loccitane.com/boutiq...try=United%20Kingdom
Yes, that's the direction I was pointing you in!
Good choice with the Clarins, I'm sure she won't be disappointed and, well, if she doesn't like it you know where I am
