Only good thing, is they done the song for charity..

Did they buggery.. they did it for self promotion.    It is a saving grace that charity is making money from it.   I'll get Pirate and call off the lynch mob.

But yes Pirate it unfortunate that this kind of "music" get's the majority of attention. I hate it when old songs are either covered or heavily sampled and the current generation think it's new.

The difficulty is everyone has their own opinions and tastes when it comes to music and who am I to tell people what they should and should not listen to.

I do get somewhat frustrated when I hear artists writing and trying to put out their own work but struggle, when groups like No Direction get it on an X-Factor plate.

I try to educate people I know by exposing them to as many different types of music as I can, hoping they find something they like.

I have quite varied tastes in music and just to illustrate, below are some recent purchases.

Depeche Mode - Playing the Angel

Brian Eno - Ambient 1 Music For Airports

John Barry - Body Heat (Soundtrack)

Roots Manuva - Run Come Save Me

Propaganda - A Secret Wish

Jimmy Somerville - Dare To Love

Gary Numan - Dead Moon Falling

Throwing Muses - Anthology

Basil Kirchin - Particles

Lalo Schifrin - Coogan's Bluff (Soundtrack)

Thanks, that's my bit of quality posting for this month

What I have enjoyed on here is discussing music with other members. Recently been talking Tangerine Dream with Garage Joe and Xochi. I have discussed various hard electro bands and YouTube videos with Ensign Muf and exchanged a few thoughts with Velvet. Not forgetting the 80's threads with Cinds and Erin. Just to name a few (apologies to those who I forgot).

Didn't see their "performance" last night, but have had it forced down my throat several times today on news items. It's bloody awful.

And I don't have any time for this "Well, it's still making money for charity" nonsense either, If you want to support their charity, make a donation. That way your money will go further as you can reclaim the tax as well, and you won't be stuck with a crap record.

Propaganda - A Secret Wish

That's been one of my favourites for many a year...

I decided to jump on the (2010) released Deluxe Double CD Edition. It was on offer for ÂĢ8 in HMV. Although I do own a copy from years ago.
