Yeah, I thought it might be something like that. I don't think they've publicized it too well, though, as I found out about the new series almost by accident.

They're supposed to be giving JR a big send-off in a few episodes time, however, so it'll be interesting to see how C5 handle it...

Eugene's Lair

I was a massive fan of the original series, never missed an episode, loved it. Especially JR's antics.

BUT.

I thought this reboot was poor fare. It looked like they had dragged some of the OC or one of those youth shows cast in to provide a youthful contemporary look and boost figures for the younger audience.

The story line was limp and quite predictable. So not for me. I want to remember  it as a good show.

So, we've finally seen the last of JR. I was initially concerned when I heard they were restoring a previously-cut scene featuring Hagman. However in the end it was nicely done, setting up JR's last ever scam: tricking Bobby into downloading a virus onto his laptop!

Rumour is that they're planning to give JR a big send off later in the series, and no doubt the reading of his will shall cause a few upsets.

Still, it's definitely the end of an era. Larry Hagman - we'll miss you.

Eugene's Lair

Dallas in a nutshell,

"This company prides itself on honesty and integrity and it will never do anything illegal"

"Oh come on every oil fortune is built on a liddle corruption"

"I will not see our companies reputation sullied cos of your greed"

 - door bangs open -

"What are you doing here?"

"I've come to claim what's rightfully mine"

"You aint taking this company boy"

"I have papers claiming 50% of everything"

"Southfork will burn before you take a nickle"

"I'll see you in court"

"Yer darn tootin' buddy"

THE END

That pretty much sums up my feelings for it too.  I watched the first episode and it struggled to hold my attention to the end of that one.
