here you go
just about to attack mine
Took all mine down yesterday. Waiting for Mr Woo to dismantle the tree.
As I was in a creative mood I gave Mary Fairy a complete makeover - I always mean to do it when the tree goes up but there's so much else to do.
She is over thirty years old and not a pretty sight. She now has a nice white lacy doiley over her dress with a dash of silver glitter - some lovely silver/white wings (large bow) - she has been wingless for a number of years. She has a lovely silver halo fashioned from a pretty gift bow and the doiley is trimmed with fine red and white ribbon. Bless her - she has been an area of neglect for many years.
Next year I hope she feels that she has regained some dignity as she sits atop the tree surrounded by the two sparkly white stars that have been threatening her position for the past couple of years.
Long Live Mary Fairy - Long May She Reign
Ta for the cuppa Mrs H.... I might make it into the shower now.
Soozy - you should take Mary Fairy's photo in all her finery!
I really wish I could Kaffy but I'm technologically challenged I'm afraid
Just took mine down and im jellus of Kaffers speed! It's taken me best part of the morning! Re arranged the sofas and hoovered under everything once i found permanent homes for all the TOYS!! and eventually could see the floor again lol
Ickle & I just went & took Mum's tree's & decs down for her...
(ours came down last week)
also gave Ickle a chance to see her Nana before she goes back to uni on Friday.
My Ma... was very well today - mentally. This is kinda the important bit right now, as she is totally off the steroids... and she is still my Mum (majorly significant - means the brain tumour is still reduced and not pressing on anything). When she first collapsed & got diagnosed & was completely vacant it took 8 steroids a day to bring her back to something like normal... now, after the radiotherapy, we have finally weaned her off them for now.
Down side is - she is suffering from her arthritis now she is off steroids. Prior to all this she had been on methotrexate for the last 8 years for her RA... then when she got diagnosed and got put on the uber steriods at the uber dose... she said her RA had completely gone... now she's off the steroids, its back.
BUT... we have made the decision that she'll poke up with it... its not the cancer... and Dad has her snuggled up in front of the fire with hot water bottles.. and paracetamol is helping the aches & pains...
Sooooo.. today is a good day
tomorrow is another day failed with the tree dismantling today
over ran my time visiting the Village care home with my cards for their craft sessions and a couple of boxes of chocolates I can do without eating
the overfull washing basket and upstairs cleaning won though
I've been otherwise engaged and so the decs are all still up, as are the 4 crimbo trees. Remind me not to do this next year please!
Make that 5, I've had a recount
Take mine down at the weekend, but will keep the fairy lights up that i put around my living room mirror. They look nice and pretty
5 trees Cosi

Basically when I can be arsed.
Gotta be down by twelth (sp) night tho Cinds
Everything came down yesterday ... back to work today and I can't be arsed with Christmas anymore!

You should think of naming your house 'The Orchard' or 'The Copse' or something similar
The OH wants ours down so I will probably do it tomorrow
I want to keep them, I love the wee twinkly lights at night. BUT it means I can finally get rid of all the toys and bits of xmas stuff lying around now.
It's gone now.
Whole handling getting the thing down ffs. Went to lift the tree off the table and it came apart so I was left trying to get 5 sets of lets off which were all tangled together. I ended up turning the thing upside down and just dragging them lights off in one go. God knows if any of them are even working but they're in the box now so I'll know next year.
Oh and how do I get cellotape marks off the window?
White spirit Ells
mine are still up....I want to take them down today, but I'm too lazy to go up to the attic

Hello stranger, welcome back.
They cost a fortune so they can stay up another day or two...my mum always took them down 12 days after christmas, so as long as i have them down this weekend i'll be keeping the tradition going
Or new ones now at a reduced post Christmas price?
Started at 9am, finished at 6pm We're done!
Oh and how do I get cellotape marks off the window?
Not with a green scratchy scourer I know that (to my cost). Many, many years ago I got all excited and sprayed a Christmassy scene onto my patio doors with that spray snow stuff.
When it came to the 12th night I happily scrubbed away with a green scourer and soapy water. When the sun shone they were scratched to buggery

Would it be dead lazy to just ask the window cleaner to come in and do it?
