My sister was a deputy cook at a school here in Brum before moving back to Ireland.  She loved it when the little ones were appreciative of the food because they didn't get much or a choice at home - she always gave them more

This little girl didn't even have socks I knew there was food that got threw away so why not give it to the kids that need it
