Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson dies aged 83anderson

NEWHis son Jamie Anderson posted on his blog today that the man behind the classic sci-fi series Thunderbirds had passed away peacefully in his sleep at midday today, Sky News reported. The man who also created Joe90 had battled dementia for the last two years. Anderson came up with the idea for Thunderbirds, a rescue organisation, after a mining disaster in West Germany.

I always associate him with The Hindenburg; a staple of “holiday time” TV for as long as I can rememberâ€Ķ

Never really liked the "Superanimation" series like Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds and Joe 90 but did like Space 1999, which is generally derided.
