PERFECT New Years Day weather...

funny how something like this can make all the difference to your mood...

I feel ok today...    I'm not high kicking around singing show songs (apart from the odd Sound of Music song...  but that's another story ) but I am ok.

Even doing "an Aimee" and having the tumble dryer suddenly start making a god awful noise & dying on us hasn't bothered me - I just though "out of all the white goods that could go...  that's the one that we can live without, and is cheapest to replace"...  plus we've had it 8 years & only paid ÂĢ80 for it!"

Soooooo...    so far, 2013 - not too bad!

I love how it's now called *doing an Aimee* I've been looking in Argos and you can get one for about ÂĢ100

I was just trying to mollify MrD, telling him, of all the white goods to break, this is the one that we can actually manage without for a while, and that isn't too expensive to replace!

I'm skint so it's the radiators for me

is surprising what some people advertise to get rid of for free just because they want a different model or fed up with what they have

preloved  might have something sensibly cheap  priced in your area also

good thinking MrsH...   I always forget about freecycle (or Freegle as it is now called)

I shall do that later xx

Re: Dryers...

who the hell are "White Knight"

fgs.. everytime I have to buy a new dishwasher/washing machine/dryer, I have to spend a day backtracking all the rebranding & getting my head round what brand is what....

The dryer that just died was an Indesit...

In fact..   it was THIS Indesit..   think I am gonna get this one again...  the old one lasted years & years...   and was used & abused beyond the call of duty (MrD...   over loading it with wet towels  - one of our ongoing domestic hissy disputes)

Unless I can find a vented dryer on any of the resale/recycle sites...

My dad rang me last last and said have you ever heard of *white Knight* how spooky is that

Anyway him and mum have offered to buy me a knew one, he came up today to look at mine, i switched it on and it's stopped making a noise I took the bottom filter drawer out to show him where the fluff goes and now it won't go back in it has done it before I just can't remember how I fixed it

Aimee

MrD tooks our apart...   the screw that actually held the drum onto the rest of it has snapped off...  & whilst probably not a big cost in terms of replacement part...   by the time we got to this the dryer was in many many pieces all over the dining room floor

White Knight is (according to my Dad) what used to be Creda/Beko/Hotpoint   if that helps.
