yes, I went down today Aimee. We stocked up on a couple of things we had run out of, but basically we manage on what we've already got...
Popped into Tesco earlier then popped out again! It was far too busy. I am just using up what i have in the freezer as not expecting any visitors. Will get fresh bread and milk and stuff for sandwiches, thats about it.
I saw many with trolleys stocked high . maybe large families or plenty money !

Ditto Aimee It never ceases to amaze me how much food people buy at this time of year.... FGS the shops are only shut for a day
I have been buying just enough food for a few meals for quite a while now. It means I shop more regularly, but I am wasting less (I used to waste a lot). So I'm thinking up meals a few days in advance and that's all.
I've shopped today for a roast beef dinner tomorrow and fish pie Monday. Buffet food for Monday night (may nip into M&S for some nice bits) - Tuesday dinner chicken, pizzas, cheese, and bits and bobs buffet. Wednesday back to normal.
Tonight been to my girlies - she cooked us a lovely fillet steak and fruit salad dessert.
I always have Steak Pie for the Bells
Roast beef for the NY meal.
There will be NO more rubbish food coming into the house.

I usually do another Turkey on NY day but I really and truly can't be arsed this year. Toyed with the idea of a Goose but thought .......bugger it - Roast Beef tomorrow and a lazyish day NY day. Buffetish - casual.

I would eat Turkey everyday.
Nah I'm not doing any more shopping. I've got a big roast beef, chicken and ham in the freezer so I'll do one of those tomorrow and another on New Years day with something light for dinner on monday and then party food that night. I will have to go to the shops on monyday for bits and bobs but not into town.

Same here erin, We've also got a chicken in the freezar to defrost for the 2nd. But apart from the pie and roast for New Year's dinner we'll only be buying bread and milk. I never go to the shops between 22/23 December and 4th/5th January as they are full of mad people buying 2 to 3 months worth of food for Christmas, then doing it all again for New Year. I get a bit hysterical (laughterwise) if I have to see thesse people with 2 or 3 trolleys each, all packed to the gunnels!

long as i got me veg n quorn in i`m happy............... oh and doggy food,,
I get all my food delivered. Have to say I went for party food last shop, as I can't face a whiff of a turkey dinner for another twelve months.. just stuff I can dip in and out of... finger food really.. and I can't decide what I want over New Year so a buffet sounds best.

I had mine, 3lb on
I don't go to a diet club (probably should though) but I've lost a few pounds since before Christmas. I think it's because I've been on holiday and eating what I want. I've not gone crazy when I have been eating though - I know there's tons of goodies I can if I want to, so I'm not stuffing food down my neck willy nilly. If I'm at work, I have brekkie, lunch, dinner, cuppas throughout the day - at home I get up late, have something for brekkie then I'm not really hungry at lunchtime and probably won't have much till teatime. I'm going to try to continue eating only what I want and when I want when I go back to work I think. I've hardly had anything to drink either - I'd be as well not drinking at all and taking my car with me - I might do a Soozy after New Year and just give it up
if this is seaside or coastal F+C are compulsary
they always taste so much nicer
I have only done a small top up on fresh or what we had run out of
first year my Lad hasnt had to work NYD since he started working so will be a nice relaxed family 3 course nosh up again tomorrow
Just been to the butchers for some Beef, so a roast dinner it is

Party/buffet/nibbles here tonight, cooked a ham, then salad, vol au vents, pickled onions, crackers & various cheeses & pÃĒtÃĐ , Xmas cake obligatory lol
Roast Pork Dinner tomorrow...
Pizza Hut pizza's tonight!
We are getting them early... a large one each (so people can keep their box & graze on left over bits later)
We've bought milk, bread and newspapers this week ... that's all. We've been living on the pre Christmas shop
eating out tonight, using up all the leftover food tomorrow, tree and decorations down, and life returns to normality on Wednesday

snap on the pork
the young one and mates and girlfriends are soon off to Pizza hut - they have a table for 20 booked and are then supposed to be coming back to the village club for drinkies ..... I have a fear they will descend on me instead ... wonder how many sleeping bodies I find scattered around the house in the morning
The fridge and pantry are groaning under the weight of it all! No idea how many will call in tonight, (in the centre of the village so likely to get a lot of callers,) nor how many will be 'well enough' to turn up tomorrow for a hangover roast, so am prepared for all eventualities and numbers. I love cooking and feeding people

Kaffs, I'm with you, I eat and drink far less when I'm not at work. It was getting all too easy to go for a pint after work to 'de-stress' and then come in and open a bottle of wine whilst making supper, so I pretty much knocked it on the head earlier this year and I'm not missing it at all. I really need to start taking something 'healthy' in for lunch, I end up being too busy to eat and then grabbing rubbish from the 'tuck shop' which may help the animal charities the money goes to but not me!
Having said that, this not drinking much does have it's down side, I've had two gnts tonight and feelalready!
