I'm not so sure that "thinking he was safe" was on his mind. I think that he is an individual with a serious problem, his view of the world would looked extremely wrong to us, but to him it may not be the case.

We have to be careful not to assume he thinks in the same way we do.

Therefore the two mothers think the same way as him too then

I'm not sure it's black and white, there may be degrees to this (a psychologist would be able to put up a much better explanation than me).

But clearly the mothers don't have the boundaries the vast majority of people do. I also wonder if drug taking made it slightly easier for them the sink to the levels of depravity they did.

For me the sentencing should be a lot harsher. I think anyone involved in this type of sickening act should start with a minimum sentence of 50 years before parole is even considered. After all they could have potentially destroyed lives before they had even begun.

I say put them all on an island somewhere far far away but I know we can't do that so the next best thing is for them to end their lives in jail

I have often advocated that we (UK) find an island off the mainland, build an Alcatraz style prison and move as many of the high risk prisoners there that we can. If the distance to the mainland is far enough, escape becomes very difficult.

Even if he did these terrible things in a drug addled stupor wouldn't he 'come to' and realise the risk?

Thankfully (i suppose) i cannot get my head round his thinking

The psychopath night on C4 recently was very good at pointing out that in the case of a psychopath they can come across as very charming (amongst other traits). I wonder if similar types of "internal" mechanisms are at work in the mind of a child abuser.

I find it plausible that part of his makeup may be that he has a perceived or real level of intelligence which to us would make us question his actions but to him it is one element of his psychological make-up.

Apparently he has made over ÂĢ100K in royalties

He should have it taken seized and given to charity

It should be seized and given to support groups for the very people who have suffered the kind of things he has done.

However I asked about this and unlike say drug dealing, this money is not gained through the proceeds of crime therefore I don't think it can be touched. Although he may need it to buy his protection inside.

Wouldn't have to if he was put in solitary
