I have a stamp collector colleague and I asked him a similar question having had a book in my wallet for over a year. There is no value written on my stamps just 1st class, so use them as you would a first class stamp (or second class as in your case).

Pengy, instantly thought of you when i saw them love the cute little earmuffs.
They have bigger whistling ones high up but it was busy and i didn't need to go upstairs (photo from the ground would have been rubbish) although i am in town again tomorrow so i might take a pic of the others then.
