How irresponsible and neglectful is that!
She was only in there for about 3 mins but still does she not read the news!

If the Daily Mail had taken the time to check, they would discover that it is illegal to take under 18s into a turf accountants.
I know that Joe but why did she have to go in there while with the tot?
what's she tied to? just looks like a long leash to me .. plus the door is open as well
Edit. .maybe the door isn't open just that my eyes are crap
Still can't see what she is tied to tho. .looks like the leash is going thru the closed door so presume the mother is on the other side of it
There is a video on in the link of the woman coming out, the reigns are tucked under the door and the door closed over them to keep her there
Whether the tot was safe or not - is it the action of a caring parent?
Hmmm, a 'tethered' child, abandoned on the street, or a child wearing a safety harness, protected from the evils of gambling?
What was to stop a sick fcuker from just removing the strap from the kids arm and taking her?

Well they were law abiding at least
in all honesty tho there are so many things out there for me to tut about I am not going to do that with this one. .twas a quick in and out, the door is glass the child is on reigns. .bit daft but not a hanging offence..
AND I get the DM of a Saturday too
keeping schtum that tis for the TV guide only as it has gone OTT but at least the ink doesn't run on your hands
I think the thing that got me about this is the fact placing a bet was really important to this woman, maybe i'm ott protective of mine but i could never do that, it's not like it was an unavoidable situation, she could have simply not gone in.

I betcha 'child abadonment' is poss against the law.
Could it be seen as that?

Is it 'child abandonment' if a parent leaves a child harnessed in a car, while they go in and pay for petrol?

I'm with you.. I don't like it & I wouldn't do it. I don't even like it when I see dogs tied up outside shops (they look sooooo sad)...
I will say one thing though.. there is a chance that she wasn't actually placing a bet, but collecting on one! The only scenario I can think of in which I would consider doing what has been done here, would be if the only access to cash I had was a winning betting slip, if I was desperate, had no one that could mind the toddler for me whilst I cashed it, and I needed food/nappies etc...
(I haven';t read the link though - so if it was stated she was actually placing a bet, then yeah... I don't think it's right)
My Mum used to leave me in the pram outside shops all the time... with our old dog tied to the pram guarding me
Mind you, back then it was the only time the dog was on a lead, back then dogs were allowed to come & go as they pleased (bizarre when I think about it now)

Well one is a necessity, with cars everywhere, and the kids secure in a locked car. (petrol)
The other is not necessary, left alone in the street where anyone could wander past.
Don't think they are the same
