That Abraham Lincoln was a vampire hunter.

So I turned my brain off and enjoyed another take on the vampire theme. There aren't many films that are very original these days, but I enjoyed the fact it was set in the past and the "good guys" did not slay the vampires with stakes or have modern firearms with unlimited ammunition and a rock soundtrack.

OK for a Saturday night in and a bag of popcorn/ice cream.

I do think that the vampire theme is starting to be overdone by a large margin, Hollywood, let's have a break for a few years please...

About your question - i haven't watched most vampire things like True Blood and Vampire Diaries, Being Human et al . . .

But if i had then, yeah i think there's been enough for now.

HOWEVER seeing since you watched Abe Lincoln and i want to see it . . .

Hmmmm

This might make an entertaining watch for you then Saint. I have seen all of the programmes you mentioned, so maybe I'm a bit vampire'd out!

I did enjoy the first two series of Being Human though. Not seen the latest one yet.

For me I thought the pacing was fine, I did not find myself becoming bored as I do in some films where the pace drags.

I also like the odd historical reference - Gettysberg for example.

I would give it a go Saint, as I say, it's quite a pleasant (strange word for this type of film I guess) way of spending a Saturday evening.

I can say this cos Rawky aint here LOL

I will watch pretty much anything, otherwise it's hard to have an opinion.

My confession is that I have seen all of the Twilight films to date.

I'm probably not desperate to see it, but I am interested to see how the finale pans out.

I have not read the books.

You have to try "Cockneys vs Zombies"

It includes the wonderful Richard Briars and the line,

"Get away from her you muppet" LOL

Not a lover of zombie films, but I do watch them. Seen quite a few.

I do like Richard Briars.

I saw this mentioned on Saturday Kitchen this morning and was going to research it.

Usually try and watch the trailers.

Sounds like it could be a bit of a comedy in parts !!

Totally agree

Load of Dingo's kidneys. I don't believe in any of this nonsense.

Having now shopped in two medium sized towns and seen all of the junk and decorations, might I address the yanks and shout, "Haddaway with yer Halloween shieght and stick it up yer fat arse!"

oooo and I love Grimm can't wait till it starts on Monday

I'm going to have to (clears throat) find an online link to Grimm and see what it's all about.

the main character who is the Grimm doesn't do it for me but the characters surrounding him are great

Thank you guys for the reminders!

Btw is Grimm really scary or teeny bopper scary? i'm a wimp and tend to have stupid dreams if i watch stuff that's too scarey.

Aw schucks, the video seems to have an issue, I'm off to check it out on YouTube.

Vampires are done to death.  Likewise zombies and wear-wolves.  Being human but that's not really quite of the genre where action set pieces are the be all and end all.  Being Human succeeds on its great writing and plays around the with the angst of the characters and clichÃĐs of the genre.

A million miles away from minimal plot crap Hollywood CGI films that Kate Beckinsale stars in and the Blade trilogy,

I've never seen a Twilight film but it's not really for me.  I can do without moody, boy-band types in pale make up.

I just watched Abe Lincoln and i really liked it! A little 'crouching tiger hidden dragon' in the cinematography in places (the jumping on horses scene near the start for example) but it was good, so thank you EC

Hmmm Grimm, is midnight a little too late start watching a new seris that i may very well just have to watch the next eppy of?
